finally built one

Unread postAuthor: grock » Mon Dec 29, 2008 3:44 pm

well, with a lot of help from Neospud and looking around here for a while, i finally stopped procrastinating enough to build me a bbmg. i built it in a bullpup config because half the reason was to use it in cqb situations. i threw on a stock that i ripped off an crappy m4 with a busted piston. all i need to do now is get a grip to go over the existing one, and replace the zip-tie with something that is less ridiculous looking. questions, comments, concerns, advice?

Why dont you just cut of the tail of the zip tie as it is doing nothing but making it look ridiculous. You could replace it with a hose clamp covered in electrical tape or something of the sorts.

What are you using as your air source? Looks like fun. Any estimate on the ROF?

Nice bbmg.

im usin a paintball tank hooked up to a cobalt co2 reg. the zip tie is only there until i can go to homedepot and get me a hose clamp, because i only have huge ones and tiny ones. when i tested it, it was tunning on 125 psi on a shop compressor, and i used all my ammo, about 200 bbs, in about 3 seconds. i just need to get some more ammo and test it again

Looks very nice grock. Is there anyway you can show the inner working details? If you had Neo working with you on the design, I'm sure it's plenty up to snuff!

sure, the only difference is now there is a aluminum plate between the block and the stock, and the 1/8" barb is cut down a little. its pretty much just like a regular inline, just a bullpup one, so it needed a couple more fittings. i have yet to set up a plunger system yet, should have one within the week

Nice. What is the vortex block made of? Also, what are you using as your barrel (looks like aluminum tube) and where did you get it?

well, i hang out in my uncle's friends machine shop on saturdays, and i've just been using stuff of his scrap shelf, the block is some kind of plastic like composite, and the barrel is stainless steel.

looks good, are you gonna add a spring and a plunger around the outside of the barrel so you can get better feed?

If so, then I can provide help with it. I created the coaxial bullpup vortex a while back.
