My popoff pops out at 8, so even if I had 1000 bar it doesn't matter.
I may machine my own popoff to pop out at 20 bar or so...

I was mucking around with making my own pop off valve for this reason, but they can be a real pain to get to cycle correctly, the commercial ones work heaps better. In my opinion it is just easier to unscrew the plug out of the top, either shim up the spring or replace it with a higher rate spring.

By the way Psycix, i made a quick ghetto version of you're pop off QEV gun. Made a barrel and mag out of carbon fiber tube, and started shooting some 6mm lead sinkers. lets just say I had a smile on my face

 MUHAHAHAHA!

Lookie what the postman just delivered :D

Turns out I have some 1/8" NPT fittings after all :) high pressure auto to come soon, but first I'm going to make a schrader adapter so I can use this as a fill tank (fits nicely into the adapter I use to fill my Daystate from the SCUBA tank woohoo!) - I want to see what the pengun V2can do at 850 psi*

yay!

* If you don't hear from me again, it means that what the pengun V2 can do at 850 psi is explode into a lethal cloud of high velocity shrapnel  :D

I've already left instructions to my family that in the event of my premature passing away, my collection should be sold off and the proceeds used to start the JSR Memorial Spudding Foundation that will promote the joys of epoxy and perforating unused domestic appliances in schools all over Europe :)

I just noticed, doubtless to avoid trouble at customs, the tank packaging was marked as "spare parts for painting equipment" - technically, I guess it's perfectly true :)

I personally call it a syringe valve (and I think others have too) because your prototype was in a syringe and what you use for a piston is from a syringe...

While I do use syringes in many of my projects, there aren't any in this particular valve:

Oh my, give me a break! You are arguing with the maker of a valve about its name?! What do you do when you meet a new person:

Guy:"Hello mr.___ pleased to meet you"
You:"Hello, pleased to meet you too, may I ask for your name"
Guy:"Yes of coarse, my name is Wayne Hubbard"
You:"No its not! Your called Timathy Mc-dudie"
Guy:"I am sorry, but my mother gave me that name"
You:"Well obviously she is wrong! your called Timathy Mc-dudie, many people(all which are imaginary) call you that!"

Oh, this is great, i should keep going!

Heck, Jack has built anything and everything in a syringe. The reason is, he's got a good supply. In other words, he nicks them from his day job, where he manufactures drugs.

As I'm sure he will tell you if I don't, they're not the type anyone not totally insane would use recreationally.

But anyway, if every time he used a syringe it proved the namer for the mechanical concept, we'd be inundated with "syringe bolt", "syringe valve", "syringe chamber", "syringe dildo", "syringe flaming pink elephant"...

*Gets trampled by the infamous pachyderm*

Now, on the notes of flaming (no, not flaming as relates to the speed metal loving peanut fiend), I know spudmanb3 has completely failed to read the topic, but it adds nothing to flame and swear at him.
As anyone who's been around here long enough knows, I'm more likely to berate the flamers than the person who didn't read the topic. (I'm even doing it now, look)
That's because the flamers have either been around long enough to know better, or haven't been around long enough and then just look like they've come here looking to cause trouble.

I regularly use syringes recreationally*, does this make me insane?

But back to the weaponry (I might make this my signature).

Image

In the T-piece have you got any kind of "hop-up"/similar to prevent the BBs rolling out the barrel? If so what about an inline magazine? Basically just a barrel extension running rearwards from the T-piece, with the air from your valve coming up the T instead so that it enters between the first two BBs?

Nice and easy to do, no worries about double feeds as the air would push the remaining BBs out the way, and that way you don't have anything sticking up out of the gun to snag/get in the way of sighting.

*Very useful for applying grease to bearings.[/img]
