New valve?

Unread postAuthor: jon_89 » Sun Aug 24, 2008 1:09 am

I found this http://www.instructables.com/id/Airgun-with-eXplosive-air-Release-Valve/. Has anybody seen or used a valve like this. It seems pretty simple.

Not sure, but I know atleast the original topic is still on the boards, the second one may of been deleted because it was within days of the first one. I figured this topic is a month or two after the last one so there may be new discussion about the valve.

The valve is almost identical to a Nelson based paintball marker. Usable, but not new.

I think he's referring to the flow rate. It just doesn't have it compared to a piston valve. But this has more qualities than just massive air flow. There is a reason it's really popular. I actually have plans to use this type of valve on one of my future projects.

That's it's main purpose. See the link I posted above for more detail on how it works.

But it's not that bad. In my opinion, it's an awesome valve.

This valve would be really easy to make larger using different parts of course...

It uses a similar valve as what I use on my guns:

I use the barrel as a hammer.

Has a perfect seal till about 15-20 bars I think
