First of all hi guys, i would like to state that this is my first ever post on SpudFiles, and that i am a mexican/american so my english is not the best, but understandable.
So i read a ton of threads and visited the SFWiki and got inspired to build an airsoft gun , me and my friends play airsoft, but we are just beginners and most of us havent even buyed a gun and are playing with cheap soda bottle/ballon weapons (from witch i love the sound they make and the echo you hear like half a second after shooting, almost like a sniper ),
2 out of 10 have buyed a gun and only one has an AEG, the rest are Springers , and of course i want to ravage the land AND START NUCLEAR WAR (korea)
Ok, so now after my grand intruduction this is my plan:
Imagine a pvc 1 1/4" hollow tube about 8 in. long, plywood vortex block (this is an Inline Vortex btw if havent noticed yet) on one side and an end cap, and on the other side a scrwable pvc end cap thing and a plunger, you get the idea, basic Inline vortex design, but here is the twist, i am basicly gonna transform the chamber into the mag, so yeah the gun without the mag/chamber shall look incredebly ridiculos!!! but it would have a quick way to reload,
The barrel will have a detent, the spring/ball design i saw on a post about a jsk guy who i see on almost all the posts (not sure if it was jsk, maybe jks?) he is Very helpfull, full,
i'l try to find the tightest barrel i can find, 6.05 maybe?, now i live somewere in all of the state of chihuahua and airsoft guns are pretty much imposible to find, not even in wallmart, just hunting rifles, i also saw that the detent jsk posted about could work as a hopup mechanisim, im screwed as in finding airsoft parts, made FOR airsoft,
Now this is the MOST IMPORTANT PART of this post, What sources of air can i use that are portable and last a good 5-10 min. of short burst firing?
My ideas are mini portabe compressors, effectively making my build an AEG, however it will be quite expensive for me as my max budget is 30$ US Dollars, another idea is a pvc air tank that is backpack mounted, like a flamethrower design, also i've benn thinking about storing the air inside the chamber/mag but i cant find a soloution for a trigger,
Now im quite limmited in my knowledge of parts and terms so Please dont come up saying advanced parts unless you describe them to me, keep in mind im in mexico and go to buy in mexico, if you know how the parts are said in spanish also call them that way or else i might not know what im even looking for and by im i mean the sales peapole.
Thanks in advance
Makes sense so far
I hate that guy

I think this is a good example for you:

Jsr, wouldn't a 6mm outer diameter with a wall thickness of 0.45 give an inner diameter of 5.1mm?
Right you are, I meant this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/7mm-Brass-K-and ... 53eca78d38
Thanks guys for all of your posts.
Ok so thanks for the welcome Jsr, i'm glad you understood this, so i don't like buying stuff of the internet, maybe i will go to home depot, aka spud depot and try to find a good barrel there, if i can't i think i will stick to using brakeline. (how muck does this cost?/precios?) I read your post Jsr (So it was Jsr) and i think it's a good example, just one question:
Is a 2l. soda bottle gonna stand up to some good pressure safely? i think it might blow up, i think you said in your post that the air in the bottle lasted for 30 bb's, it gave me an idea as to what to do.
Here is a video of the flamethrower design i might use
Now Dart Guy What do you mean by "Bullpup"?
Sugestions for my build are welcome Thanks!!!
If you can find a couple empty fire extinguishers (which I'm sure you can) try plumbing two of them together and filling them to about 150 psi or so. Then you can connect that to your gun for a portable air source.
I must say, pretty good idea gun freak
I will post some vids and pictures once its done, thanks guys!!
I meant that you should have the load "mag" behind the trigger to maximize barrel length with a short gun.
Hey Guys , i have come up with an idea for an incorporated silencer (Not Removable) in a bullpup inine vortex, i still don't know how to post image files (GIMP) so i will have to describe it to you.
Okay so, inline vortex, on the back of the gun (almost in the stock) and then the barrel, sealed in a chamber (yes, the whole barrel) independent from the one with the bb's and the vortex block, and at the end of the barrel some holes a reasonable distance from the start of the barrel to give the bb time to accelerate.
The Chamber is filled with some fluffy material, like sponges to dampen the sound, preferaby something that doesn't rot in water if you get the gun wet in that river over there in the arena, and also durabe.
"INLINEVORTEX" "TUBESIZEOFBARREL" "ENDCAP"
" COUPLER" "SPONGE"
And for an important part, the original chamber where the vortex block is, surround the walls of the most parts you can in something fluffy again, i'm thinking Foamy the thick kind, but you might have some problems related to the plunger so this is optional.
So, what do you think? Oh and so how do i upload images?
PS: Also, how do i change my profile pic?
I will be posting my gun design for all to see as soon as i get the hang of JPEG's and PNG's here
I think you have a great idea! I have made quite a bit of bb machine guns and I think you have a great idea with this one now if you wana know how to put up pics or change your profile ask a moderator they will tell you. Good luck and cant wait to see man!!!
New facebook page Pvc air guns you can also reach me at firstname.lastname@example.org!
Fluffy material isn't really helpful when it comes to sound dampening. You need baffles to create turbulence and slow down the exiting gas.
This video deals with firearm silencers but basically airgun silencers work on the same principle:
Is this to stop the BBs rattling around?

Good luck with your BBMG, Felipe.
Couple of tips, though.
Your vortex block needs to be as smooth as possible, so if its wood you will need to sand it down VERY fine. An easier way is to line it with PVC pipe, or an aluminum coke can.
You say it will be an AEG? An AEG stands for "Airsoft Electric Gun".
Be very careful when using BBMG's for airsoft. The pressure needs to be regulated low enough that it will not hurt anyone. What JSR refers to as the "jackhammer effect" must controlled, if you are going to play.
Shameless self promotion:
Check out the pictures of my vortex block in my M16 BBMG (the link is in my signature). You will see an example of lining the wood with PVC. No damage or wear to this day.
