Well, when married, you might need to justify almost everything that comes into the marital dwelling.

"Whats that for?" becomes a legitimate question. The old Astro Daco Scorpion apparently made of cherry and oak and clearly bearing "Made In Canada" HANDWRITTEN is fine on the wall, if properly defended... but that old Slavia 630 that cost me 39.99 in 1984 that needs a new piston seal (but honey that's a classic) well... doesn't get used and... ummm... "they don't make 'em like they used to..." isn't necessarily good enough. I think I could defend an Apache fireball in non-firing condition... but it's complicated... maybe not at market value...

Are you thinking of getting married? :)

Nice crossbow ;)

Are you thinking of getting married? :)

Came close a couple of times but not needing to justify my purchases was one of the reasons I didn't follow through.

Roy is my hero.

My friend “Roy” came through town on his way home from a big machinegun shoot in Alabama. He invited us to shoot some of his guns. Now, I love firearms, but have never owned a full-auto firearm. Roy has a bunch, all completely legal. He dates the girls, but has never let one talk him onto marriage. As a result, he has money for his hobby. As I told a guy that said, “Wow! What a great collection!”

“Yep, that’s the wedding that he never had.”

edit: current valve and chamber setup with part dimensions (not to scale):
