Yea i think your are right, i did use too much fuel, only because of the cold, it probalby screwed up my metered fueling process.

Yes the ignition system is fine for sure, i hear it in my chamber.

Ok and get this. I just went downstairs in the basement where my cannon is for the hell of it. I randonmly open a ball valve and propanw went into my chamber. So then i got curious and turned on the fan. Then i put on the ignition and it ignited!!

From this accidental experiment, i see that the pressure of the propane changes and gives me a different fuel mix. Now i see that for sure the problem lies with the cold. So i guess i will have to wait for warmer temperature or i will just have to find the correct amount.

Ne other suggestions?

Hope it works good for our shootout :P

The pressure of the propane in the meter shouldn't change a lot in pressure, unless you bring it from a cold spot outside to a warm spot inside, or vise versa.

I figured that your meter would use about 60 psi... Possibly try a liquid volume measurement of your chamber if it is still far off... but it's hard now with a steel pipe and possible steel screws for ignition...

Yea thats what i did and it worked fairly well.

I measured the id of my pipe with a tape measure and i got 9/16 of an inch, which is what i used and ended up with 62-63 psi when using tha calculator, spudtoolonline. But its not off, its just the damn cold here, thats what screws it up.

Ya... I don't like the 21°F "feels like 11°F" temperatures either... But it beats the 5°F "feels like -10°F" we had last weekend :P

I'm going to build a advanced combustion sometime soon, but I don't want to deplete all my money  .

I'm planning on a 3" to 1.5" golfball combustion... Possibly a clear chamber.

Yea well clear chamber kindof costs a little more.

I just built a combustion to see if i can, which i did, and whatever fits in a 2" barrel is what i shoot.

Also with windchill, it makes it colder than it really is.

I didnt shoot my combustion for like 2 weeks now bec of the cold, but when it warms up im gonna put her to the test.

Other than that, i am just excited to get my 4 inch piston cannon, 3" porting, done and i ordering the parts today, but i wont be able to shoot it until the spring, so i am getting a good start on it.

I can't wait to see your 4" piston gun!

I'm just about finished with my 5/4" piston, with 2" chamber, and 1.5" barrel porting... I need to secure the sealing face on my piston and finish my QEV...

I know how powerful even 1" BST's are, so a 3" ported one will be insane!

Yea i just like 3 inch barrel because its not only big, but there are alot of things that can fit inside a 3 inch barrel, like a coke can, water bottle, and alot more things.

So i will be looking forward to that and im gonna buy the parts today and wait like a week and know for sure that i will get them. Its gonna be awesome, but spring is like 2 months away so i got alot of time to finish it.

Also i need to start working with my compressor that i got for Christmas. It would be nice to have that goin for my gun rather than using a car pump to power it.

the next SWAT gun is coming!!, im just gonna need another name.

If your still ordering from McMaster, you should get your parts same day...

I'm not that much close than you, and I receive parts same day even when I order later...

Hope your piston works well... Mine doesn't seal for crap... I need a softer rubber or some silicon caulking...

im ordering from sprinkler.com actually. they seem more reliable to me with thier fittings, they tell you the pressure rating for all the parts which is what i need to know.

But from mcmaster i will order some 4 inch pipe and get it there myself just to see the warehouse.

And also if i need ne other stuff, ill look at mcmaster for my crazy ideas, like a bbmg maybe or somethin like that.

McMaster is surprisingly hard for my mother to find, but I can find it easily every time

It's at the intersection of 43 and Lena Drive...

Route 306 merges witr 43 by the way...

306 goes all the way to the "Lake"... Between Willoughby and Mentor

480 has an exit to Route 43 ("Aurora Road") if your more towards the city.

Wow sprinkler.com is expensive!!!

You really think sprinkler.com is expensive?

i really dont becuase when i compared the prices of Mcmaster carr and sprinkler.com, i ended up getting just about the same order with Mcmaster carr, i think it was actually a little more.

Mcmaster Carr warehouse is Aurora on Aurora Industrial Parkway
