I completely agree with you about looking after this, my main problem is keeping hold of it when I bring it out. If its fired with the barrel removed you get an 8" flame out of the top which makes a great cigar lighter.

The point made about getting into trouble with it in public, giving the hobby a bad name is absolutely right. I would never bring this out where the public could see. Fortunately, in my line of work this sort of device is "normal", in fact it is the smallest one I have seen at a formal dinner, perfect for discrete distraction tactics. My collegues have been building this sort of device since the 60's at least, though I think its definately one of the better looking ones

Without wishing to get too personal, I am lucky that my workplace is very understanding about this sort of behavior at the appropriate time, in fact it is generally encouraged (competitions and the like). Also well away from the general public.

This is great for firing lettuces, cabbage was tried but the extra recoil damaged my stunt-firer a bit. I also use a tin as a discarding sabot round, this gives proper grape shot

This was my previous model, shoulder launched, it is a little less subtle.
