WOOPS...I just made way to much noise

Unread postAuthor: lockmanslammin » Mon Mar 24, 2008 11:41 pm

Hey there combustion cannon folks. I have been lurking around here, mostly in the pneumatic cannon discussion area for a couple months now as I have been building a copper pneumatic http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/ongoing-progress-update-pictures-t13286.html there is the link if your would like to see it so far.
But anyhow, I built a combustion cannon a few years ago after being inspired by the spudtech website. Here is a couple pics

<a href="http://s117.photobucket.com/albums/o75/lockmanslammin/?action=view&current=DSCF3145.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o75/lockmanslammin/DSCF3145.jpg" border="0" alt="salad shooter"></a>

<a href="http://s117.photobucket.com/albums/o75/lockmanslammin/?action=view&current=DSCF3144.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o75/lockmanslammin/DSCF3144.jpg" border="0" alt="salad shooter"></a>

Anyways, I seen it sitting there and I haven't even touched it since two summers ago, (I don't know why) so I decided to get it out and get re-aquainted with it. I remembered that I needed to install a new chamber fan because I hit the old one with 70,000 volts accidentally and toasted it. I decided to go out on my porch and smoke a cigg. I brought the cannon out with me. Now mind you it was 11:00PM at night, and I am in the middle of a quiet residential neighborhood here. So I get the bright idea of dry firing it to see if it still works at all, as I have had strange problems with the propane valve not opening in the past. So I checked and double checked that there wasn't anything in the barrel and opened the propane valve into the meter pipe. It worked perfectly and I charged the pipe to 20PSI. I figured with out anything in the barrel it wouldn't be that loud.... Big mistake... I pushed the trigger button and BBLLAAMM! complete with the 1.5' torch shooting out of the barrel. I was like AHHHH crap, I took it in the house real quick and turned off the porch light. Then went back out on the porch to see if any of the neighbors were coming outside to see what the noise was. Thankfully nobody was out there. Now I kinda want to fix the chamber fan and put a nice paint job on it like I always planned to.
Then I will slap it into the combustion cannon showcase. I have to admit, this cannon got alot more oooohs and ahhhs than my new copper one has so far. Well... I'm rambling on and on. I just thought you guys might enjoy my stupidity of the day.

No such thing as too much noise.

You did a really nice job on that cannon, just needs a lick of paint.

As a mate once told me, it aint the color, it's the size of the tree
Camo, Black, White or yellow
We are, don't deny the same good fellow
Yellow will not fly, black is a sign of a true nut head
It does not not matter what the color, till you are dead
The race as we know it has to be be won, not the individual valour, fuc% the sun
I could call people names i won't, names are names, until your mame
I had relations with your mother, fuc% she was insane
She screamed, she hollowed and did surely spit,
The remains from myself
They come from my dick.

Edit: My dogs name is dick, she is a b!tch.

America, the greatest gangster of all time. With 200 million odd foot soldiers at it's whim and call.

I was kinda thinking gloss black with an airbrushed flame job, that will match up with the flame cuts on the propane bottle sleeve. Think that would be over the top? Or do you think a metered propane with on board tank, over/under, stun gun with 4 spark gap, spark strip ignited, fan mixed, PVC cannon that shoots vegetables is over the top any how...hehe.
Thanks for the kind words by the way Maxus.
