hello, new here, have a question...........

Post questions and info about combustion (flammable vapor) powered cannons here. This includes discussion about fuels, ratios, ignition systems, safety, and anything else relevant.

Anyways, he did mount the ignitor inside the chamber. It doesn't exactly need a massive hole, and it would barely need any wiring since the electrodes are already exposed to the combustion gasses. Mabye just a bit to modify it to create the electrode gap.

That's what I've been doing. I seal the edges of the hole either with high-temp RTV or expoxy. I don't really want hot gas to burn my fingers as I'm pressing the trigger! For the gap, I solder a short length of solid wire to the rear electrode, bring it up to the point and cut it off, then bend it so it makes about a 3/16" gap. Pretty much works every time. The hole needs to be 5/8".
