Unread postAuthor: jjjd » Tue Jan 16, 2007 1:50 pm

I was at canadian tire a while ago and i was wondering if MPS gas could be used in a cannon? Does anybody know the fuel to air mixture and if it would be safe?

it burns great, however it needs a good spark. you only need a little amount. don't know the ratio, just try little amount. Trial and error

MPS is another name for MAPP gas, I believe it stands for 'methylacetylene propadiene stabalized". MAPP gas gives a combustion launcher about 10% more muzzle velocity as opposed to propane if the stoichiometric quantity is used.

MAPP is a great fuel for minis, has more muzzle speed than butane.
