I have an old Daisy powerline 880 that I want to put an air source on so I can get rid of the pumping. Anyone have an idea of what kind of PSI is stored after the suggested max of 10 pumps?

Lazy bugger. Laughing

Rough guesstimate..1000psi.

I've seen msp airguns converted to "bulk fill" by means of an insert, which replaces the "guts" of the pump, and is retained by the same pin that retains the pump.

The insert is drilled and tapped for 1/8"npt for external attachment of a typical paintball hose, and the insert is sealed to the pump bore by means of an o-ring.

Clear as mud? Smile

1000 PSI? That seems like a lot, is it just because the chamber is so small that with 10 pumps and minimal effort it puts it up that high? If it is up around 1000 psi that means I could run it on CO2 so this may be good news. I am going to call Daisy tomorrow and see if I can get something out of them too.

Some testing was done (cannot remember by whom) on a crosman 13xx which had a metal flat top piston installed in place of the stock plastic item. The valve chamber was drilled and tapped for a pressure gauge.

Testing revealed that chamber pressures of 1500psi were quite possible.

In stock trim, the parts have more flex, the pump has more dead space, etc. limiting max chamber pressure.

Most of the conversions I've seen were running co2 and modified valves etc. to retain performance with the denser gas. Come to think of it...I'm pretty sure there wasn't much left that was "stock". Wink

Good luck getting "hard" information from daisy. If they do share anything, please post it up. Smile
