So I'm selling my current gun, a Spyder TL-R so's I can get myself a Tippmann A-5. Any of you used one? They seem pretty good to me. I'm trying to do it quickly because D-Day is in June and I want to get the A-5 before then.

So yea, anyone got any experience with the A-5?

Well sweet then. I've heard good things about it, and heard some things that will eventually need to be upgraded.

My TL-R was my first, just enough to figure out how I play. It did me good but it's high time I buy a better gun and mod it to perfection. I've already got so many things in mind.

I have a and ariakon sim-4 which has served me well. But I do have a couple tippmanns (not any a5s though) which have never let me down.

I have tried the a5 though and loved it, its by far one of the better paintball guns out there. I would but one except I already have 8 paintball guns (friends and family refuse to by them, so they just use mine) so it would be a little unneccasary, but i'd say go for it, i doubt you regret it.

I have a 98 custom and since there’s practically no difference between the internal workings of the 98c and the A-5 I can confidently tell you that you’re not going to find much of anything better.

No far, you get to go to D-Day! That’s better than a 1000mile drive for me… Crying or Very sad

Which side you going to play for?

Probably allies.

Well the A-5 has the Vortex feed system, so I won't have to worry about a motorized hopper, and the one I'm getting has a response trigger. Plus the A-5 looks cooler.

I have an X7 and no problems with it. You can't ask for a better loading mechanism than the cyclone. So go ahead with the A5. If you can swing it check out the B5 upgrade with an E-trigger. Those things are just fun! Very Happy

What's the B5? I'm getting the one with the response trigger because I wanted a bit faster firing rate, but didn't need an electronic board. I can't justify an electronic board for my playing style, so I'm just sticking with the response.

This is the B5. A little pricey but downright BEAUTIFUL. They are not a disappointment.[/code]

Geez, that's more than a little pricey. Granted, it's pretty sweet, but that costs more than the A-5 to begin with. I'm gonna have to turn that one down.

I have an A - 5 and I love it. It is a wonderful paintball marker and I have never had any problems with it. It is a little more complicated, as far as the working parts, compared to the Tippmann 98, but once you learn, it's pretty simple.

People have asked if I plan on getting an X - 7 (which is basically an upgraded version of the A - 5). I have no intentions on doing so, as my A - 5 is just fine (plus the X - 7 is a little pricey right now).

The stock barrel sucks, but you probably knew that anyway. The only other problem I have with it is the fact that I am left handed, which means the Cyclone gets (did before the Q - Loader) in the way.

Hey, this was very helpful for me. I am going to join my church's paintball league and I was trying to pick between the 98C and the A-5, and I think that now I will go with the A-5.

Pretty much all Tippmann pbg's are worth the money. Probably the best pbg's on the market (for the price) are the A-5 and X-7. (I have an X-7 Cool)

I myself have/have owned a Spyder TL-R, Spyder ACS, Tippmann 98, Tippmann 98 Custom, Tippmann A-5 and the Tippmann X-7.

Those are the order's I have owned them and also the order I would put them in for best performance...So next to the X-7 would be the A-5...

So it's a very nice gun for all experience players because of its reliability and durability. Because of there durability, I would suggest finding a used one for a (much) cheaper price. Try ebay...i just typed it in and got about 80 different A-5's...

Anyway....it's a very good choice and an overall nice gun

Wink
