| Hello, im new here and am trying to make a paintball mortar, and have an idea on how to make one, but i want to make it were its co2 powered and was wondering. Is there any kind of adapters I could use to put in the expansion chamber, instead of a tire valve, and use 12 gram Co2 cartrages or any kind of cartrage in stead of a tire valve, and was also wondering would this work or is there somthing better out there? http://www.pyramydair.com/cgi-bin/accessory.pl?accessory_id=285 |

You could get a 12 gram quick change adapter
And the an ASA remote adapter with an 1/8" NPT port
and then tap an 1/8 thread into your chamber and screw on your co2!
the remote adapter can have an on/off so you will be able to regulate the pressure. |

But if you use a 12 gram adapter, the on-off wont do anything. There is no pin to push on the 12 gram adapter like on a constant co2 tank, once you place the 12 gram inside the adapter and then screw the shroud on it punctures the 12 gram. You cant stop the flow coming out untill the tank is empty.
So an on-off will still work but it wont regulate the flow. |

Ahhh... we all face stupity at some point. I take that back, on/off won't work, but the idea is still good. Just slap on a ball valve. |

the adapter with the on/off...? Yeah, it'll work but the on/off won't function.
It's still good in case you decide to use a regular paintball co2 tank with a pin valve some time. In that case it will function.
Or you could just get a direct one like this: http://iisports.com/product.asp?dept_id=3302&pf_id=XP8183A-E |

You would need a ball valve and guage to regulate the pressure going into the gun.
So, you would thread in your cartridge, an open the ball valve.
You watch your guage and wait till it gets to, say, 60 psi. The you shut the valve and save the rest for next time. (won't be much left) |

Here:
hope all this helps. good luck.
If u want to draw stuff out just use microsoft paint... comes with all windows.
Or google sketchup demo (extremely limited 3d CADish thing)
Rhino CAD 3d demo (awesome but only saves 25 times) |
