This is such a great forum that I want to get active on it and by showing some of my efforts. I am helping a 10th grader with an AP Physics trajectory project, and decided that I needed my own version. I wanted something to launch antennas into (over) trees.
My first unit was a 4' long piece of 1/2" Schedule 40 attached to a blowgun, itself attached to an old Sears 100 PSI air compressor. It will shoot a 6" long 1/2" bolt with attached string 75' in the air, easily clearing any tree on my propeerty.
Pursuing greater portability, I made a series of "Carrot Crushers" (favorite ammo is peeled baby carrots from Safeway, on sale @ 4 bags for $5!) The latest is a Laser sighted unit with a Rainbird valve. |

| that chamber looks huuuuuuge for that barrel, it must really thump, but is it safe? How much chamber can you have before it starts being restricted too hard because the barrel is reduced so much? |
