Most BBMGs aren't portable but I used a fire extinguisher I had lying around, I modified it to be refillable via bike pump. Now it's pretty light and comfortable. The cloud chamber is just an old nutmeg container and the barrel is a bic round stic pen. The chamber can hold around 250 rounds of 6mm BBs. I can get about 4 seconds of constant flow from the fire extinguisher and that's enough air to empty about 100-130 bbs, all around 240-260 fps with 90 psi.

Here's how many bbs it can hold.

I added a little grip just for comfort.

It holds like a P90, this all I really need in a match, it's pretty fast shooting little gun, semi-powerful.

Here's one from an older model of the gun that shot 6mm beads.

Here's a newer movie, don't be fooled by the weaknees of the looks of this vid.

It was shot from 15ft. (measured) back, here's how many BBs went into it.

I know this post is a bit old now but I am just interested in finding out how you made the fire extinguisher fillable by bike pump. How did you get the valve into a hole you drilled at the base of the fire extinguisher? Is it just a normal car tyre valve?

That is an awesome mini and you have just sparked an idea in my head. Any help or links would be great.

He used a threaded schrader valve....which is a car tyre valve/bike valve.
He drilled a hole, used a 1/8 ir 1/4" tap to mkae threads, and threaed it in.

I think it's nice to see more portable clouds/strafers. Nice idea of using the fire extinguisher as a air tank.

I suggest turning the cloud chamber 180 degrees and getting a longer barrel. It will be more compact , but with a lot more power.

you should see my "portable" vortex gun i put a 5 gallon air tank in a back pack, then made a short hose using compression fittings, and connected it to my full sized vortex gun. went over to my friends house last month and we played airsoft. i was in their tree fort bunker with a few other kids, the other team decided it would be good to try charge tactics as they had used successfully before. it was total devistation, they charged at my virtually silent (because of its long barrel) insanely fast firing vortex gun, they had no idea what was happening until they were hit.

Isnt that a bad idea to be shooting people with something that can rip holes through sheet metal?
just a thought...... if its safe then im making one for airsofting otherwise i dont think i will ever make a poratble strafer.....
