| I think you'd have to go hybrid to get any substantial power out of it. Considering that it usually leaks like crazy between the cylinder and the barrel. The mechanism looks rather complex, but it'd look great if you made it right. |

If you made the cartidges wider than the calibre and made it a large scale project - more like a grenade launcher than a handgun - even with a simple combustion it would be impressive.

Yeah, i totaly agree. Though i feel that any of my attempts to do this just wont do justice, as we've all been blown away by the eclipse launcher.
Still this year i'm doing a pre apprentishship in electrical and they have a nice machine shop with lathes, mills and the rest. Hopefully we'll get to lean the basics or be able to take a class. Then i'll be able to use the lathe in my shed just waiting to make spudguns, and hopefully a simple revolving launcher. But this would be a huge project for me. |

| Itfit's a combustion though, you won't have to bother with the complications of the hammer - all you need to get right is the rotating and indexing system, and on a large scale (say 1"-2" calibre) it should be relatively easy to get right. |

Arh jsr your a wealth of good advice. I remember once you suggested using a click pen for someone considering a revolver type design. I'll have to go pull one apart to understand it, but do you think a similar design could be made bigger?
Yes i think i would go with large carts to make it eaiser to align up |

That could be an option. As another alternative, have a looks at the rotary magazine on my Daystate Mk.3:
The idea is that the magazine is rotated by a spring (visible in the centre of the magazine) and the ratchet at the bottom allows it to move one cylinder at a time each time the arrowed end is pressed. I would think it would be easy to find precise drawings of such a mechanism and scale them up. |

| There are lots of ways to make a revolver action. I went through a process of different indexing mechanisms like ratchets and escapements with torsion springs, etc. until I found what I could make the most useful design. Doesn't mean that there is not a better way, especially if you are not trying to make more than one or a few of them. |
