Hey guys I have had an idea for a while now...

BBMG's whether they be inline vortex's, vortex caps, or clouds etc they all have the same problem... The guns do not look like their counterparts, they all have some sort of round magazine or something that makes them not look like the real gun.

I posted the RC-P240 (p90 mod) which looks exactly like the p90 except for the magazine on an Airsoft simulation website. They commented about how they loved the gun and the ROF and performance but they didn't like the round tube magazine.. Almost all of the BBMG's either have a round tube as the magazine or the ammo chamber...

So I figured it would be really cool to have a gun such as an m16 with an m16 magazine rather than a tube for a magazine. Another problem untill recently was fitting a vortex block into a body of a real gun body. That problem was fixed with the vortex cap design that I created... However with a vortex cap you still have a round tube and the barrel is hard to line up completely in the middle.

So I put my mind to the task to push the envelope and I came up with a few ideas... I will progressively keep this topic up to date with better ways to push more simulation into the designs of BBMG's.

With that said my first idea is as follows..

A Vortex Mechbox that can be easily snapped/screwed into place into a pre-exsisting gun body.. For example a lot of AEG's have different version gearboxes... So I was thinking about making a vortex gearbox that would work for guns that are V2 compatible. The magazines would be old metal magazines that are cut, gutted out and reinforced with epoxy. You would simply load the magazine at the top and shove it into the magazine port for the gun... the plunger inside would push the bb's into the vortex design in the mech box and aesthetically speaking it would work quite well.

So I'm working on a few rough ideas that should work but I wanted to see what you guys think...

Here is a picture of my first design...

Now I realize the springs dont look like springs and they arnt long enough in that picture... I made this model in like 3 min so give me a break... lol

That will be one kick A$$ bbmg Shocked I think it will be hard to feed through a flat surface and then a hole, but i never make these.

well thats a good thought, but the problem is that the bb might not be able to travel that curve very well because all the other bb's are there, but thats just me, we won't know till its test, very nice though.

well I could curve the hole around it... like I said I made the model really quickly... in all actuallity where the barrel meets the vortex it would actually have a curved part for the bb's that don't make it into the hole... feeding would be the only concern in this design because it doesnt have a full circle but I'm still thinking...

Instead of the curve being upside down, you could turn it another 180 so that the BB's are stored at the top of the magazine.

There will be less ammo though

I think that you will have problems with ammo capacity. These clips will empty before you can blink... Unless you can somehow extend them? IDK.

The problem is, how are you going to construct a square magazine thing and how is it going to seal?

Also like people above stated, there might be too much bbs in the vortex at the same time, increasing ROF maybe, but surely dropping power.

If I find the power drops then I will simply make the cruve shorter and thus more powerful...

Umm its a good idea but I really cant see it working
The bbs wont be able to spin around the chamber and suck themselfs in the barrel. I doubt you will understand what I mean but I cant really explain it any better.
But if Im wrong and it works that would be cool, it would revolutionize all bbmg.

yeah I know what you mean about how some bb's wouldnt be able to spin around a complete circle and thus making it harder for them to be sucked in. I am still working on that problem and If you guys have any ideas let me know...

hey guys, same concept different feed

The bb's would spin around in the full circle... for those bb's that go around too many times and dont get sucked in the barrel they would hit that wall and either drop out or get sucked back into the vortex for another chance...

Yes the design is much more compact, and would probably be more accurate, because it would have more power. Is the source of the air parallel to the entrance to the vortex chamber? and if it is, would'nt the ammo run out to the point the ammo is below the point of suction? or is their a plunger r something alike that you didn't illustrate?

Hey, I came up with a fairly simple modification. It looks cloud(ish), but I believe that it would have pretty smooth operation. I hope you don't mind me modifying your pic.
