Welcome to Spudfiles!

It would definitely be possible, I would recommend using a barrel sealing piston valve (check the wiki if you don't know what these are).

We won't spoon feed you the answers by giving you a plan and a parts list, but think up a design, post it here and we'll give advice and help you with the design.

Your a genius Imperialist1, you just gave me an idea.

Simply take a length of high pressure rated hose and at one end clamp a tire valve to it and at the other end fix one of them air duster things with a 6mm barrel attached to it. All you do is pump the bike pump a couple of times (as many as it takes to fill up the small length of hose to about 130 psi) and load a bb in the barrel and pull the trigger.

It wont be super powerful but I reckon if you can get a good high pressure in the hose, it will act as a very small chamber for 1 single shot. The air duster should work OK but you could use another type of valve if you want to.

I used to shoot bb's using an air compressor at 50psi using an air duster valve and it worked way better than a cheap $10 bb gun.

Sorry if my explanation is crap. I will draw a quick diagram soon. I bet this could be the simplest bb gun around.

Ok here is my quick design, all you have to do is find a way of fitting your barrel to the air duster, the rest can be done using a couple of hose clamps.

From my experience in other cannons it should work quite well. It should only take about 5 pumps to charge and is very mobile, very cheap and will be perfect for shooting small ammo (bb's). If you have a good pump and you made it well, it could go as high as 250 psi. If something does go wrong it wont be too dangerous because the chamber is so small

Hope that helps.

shud_b_rite, please edit your posts instead of double posting.

The design you came up with would work alright, but it could be improved by modding the blowgun (I can't remember how you do it, look it up)

Don't you think thats a bit extreme for a new member? You could use a ball valve or waste $20 and get a sprinkler valve and mod it. But if you want about 250bbs in 20sec make a cloud or vortex. To use a sprinkler valve on a one shot bb gun is pointless really so make a amrble gun or something, you can still use a bike pump.

How fast can you pump?

Clouds eat compressed air like it was free.

Its impossible to manually pump the kind of air clouds scoff unless you're charging up a big chamber first.

More like 2000. Very Happy
A cloud uses air wayyy too fast to use a bike pump with, unless you have like 5 people all pumping up a 10 gallon air tank at the same time while you're shooting.

Is there anyone here who is experienced in making single shot bb guns. What would be the minimum chamber size for just one good shot?

Your going to get in trouble, but, your going to want a small chamber and high pressure, run it off one of those Co2 bike tire fill things. Get as much PSI/BAR as possible, especially if you’re shooting 6mm or 4.5mm ammo. The small the barrel’s ID the higher the pressure required to get good velocity.
Question: can brake line or copper take 800PSI?
