hey guys

now i know this is a bit of topic. but i was at the hard were store the other day and bought a blow torch in the hope of doing a little brazing so i got home lit it up and realised it wouldnt melt some brass welding rod i got from school (around 2mm thick) it turned it red but it didnt melt.
the torch runs on propane and i was wondering what would happen if i ran mapp gas thru it. will it destroy it will it blow up etc etc.
here my torch. it melts solder no sweat so maby a little silver solder could join some things for me http://www.bernzomatic.com/bernzomatic/consumer/jhtml/detail.jhtml?pro dId=BernzoProd100028

any ideas on how i can use it to join two pieces of metal would be very much appreciated.

btw sorry for the stupid post just though you guys could help me out as i bought it as a spare of the moment thing

thanks

ryan

hm, thats just propane, they have torch kits that have an oxy hookup too, though if you're planning on brazing for a copper cannon, i'd advise against it, brazing will hold less pressure, but it will hold a much higher tempurature. that torch that you have is fine for pipe soldering though
