I just wired mine to the capacitor leads. you could also wire it to the flashbulb leads, which will give you the convenince of using the built-in trigger on the board(there should be a couple thin copper prongs sticking out, thats the trigger).

Btw, if you think those caps hurt, try getting hit by 4 of them at once. or one wired to a v-8 ignition coil. been there, done that Very Happy

I'f made this ignition yesterday, I let the power on the circuit for one night(what could happen Rolling Eyes ). Well now it itsn't working anymore Mad, what can be the reason. When testing the diode whas a little(wel very) hot Question . I well buy an new one and take of the parts from the old wone, can I use the capacitor and HV transformer in the new circuit?

Is the battery dead? That's the most likely thing to happen if it is left on over night.

It might be the diode, or it could be any of the other semiconductors (there are usually a couple diodes and a couple transistors). Some of the parts are surface mount and nearly imposble to test or replace.

It is probably not practical to repair the board unless you know a fair bit about electronics.

Just go down to the local grocery store with the in-house photoprocessing and ask for a couple disposable cameras. Tell'm they are for a science project.

Check out my topic on ignition if interested. "High Power ignition from Camera Flash" its in this section. Over 3 inch sparks. Might provide you with a better understanding.
Sorry don't know how to directly link, new to this thing.

The battery is probably dead, but also these circuit boards don't seem to be very resitant to abuse, and i'v gone through several because I left them charging for long times or accidently shorted it at experimenting with it. Just getting a new one would be the easiest.
