Does anyone know what I use to connect the meter pipe to the hose? What fitting goes from the ball valve to the hose?

hose barb? Get a brass one that fits snugly in your hose then use a small hose clamp over the hose to hold it on!

Ohh ok thats what its called thank you.

EDIT: What size hose fits over a blow torch when the tip is cut off. And do you just use a pipe cutter to cut that off?

Man, I need to sell Blue Flame kits...

I'll explain more about what I think should be edited later on. I'm at work right now.

To attach the meter pipe to the hose, use a hose barb and TWO clamps on each hose barb to ensure an airtight connect. I think the hose size is 1/2", but I'll check. Just take the torch head with you to the hardware sore and see what hose is a tight fit over it. You don't have to modify the torch head at all if you don't want to, just shove the tubing as far over it as possible and put two clamps on it.

Gort, looking forward to it.

Peace,
Pete Zaria.

Ok thats what I'll do thanks for the plans Pete. Gort how much do you think the kit will cost. That would be nice for people that are making their first propane cannon.

I am a pneumatic guy, combustions are unreliable and can fail on you. Pneumatic fail once a 500 shots

Frankly Tom, you are wrong. If you have ever made a good quality combustion you would know that they can be extremely reliable. I'll be honest with you here. I can not remember the last time the Blue Flame misfired or even gave a weak shot.

Spud Bux are just a little addon to the forums where you earn a certain amount each post and you can buy stuff in the shop (linked above somewhere on a menu bar) like signatures or titles. (I think it's about time to change my title again today.) You can buy "items" like g-strings, or cannons, and if you get 20000 you can buy your very own ME!

So Gort, aside from a better control box and potentially some sort of chamber access system, is there anything else you see that needs to be changed?

Do you know if a propane cylinder fits OK between the chamber and barrel, using 2" 90's and a 1.5" barrel?

I haven't thought of the best kind of handle yet. I'd like to hold it at waist level instead of shoulder level, so I was thinking about putting a grip on the top, connected via a dryer vent size hose clamp around the 90's and chamber. Any objections?

I think I'm going to give my current combustion to a friend for Christmas and build this design for myself Smile

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone.

Peace,
Pete Zaria

Take a look at my store: LaunchPotatoes.com and look in the combustion section for my over-under cannon. That's the type of handle you want.

Propane bottles do not fit under the barrel. It will need to be hung off the side. I suggest using 3" sch 40 rings to hold the cylinder.

About the DWV, I know it works fine but I really think the look of PW fittings is much better. They look a lot smoother and professional. I wouldn't use bell couplers either. They look dumb. Use the coupler and bushing method. It costs about the same and looks a lot nicer.

I'll nit-pick more later. Razz

Wait I have one more question about the hookup of the fan. If I use molex connectors how do I get the molex connected to the battery? I'm guessing I need some sort of adapter. But if I don't want to use the molex connectors then what do I do because don't all the fans come with a molex connector on them?

Nevermind Pete aswered my question on aim

Pete; thanks for the info. Will be moving up to metered gas soon.Your info takes some of the mystery out of metering.

To cut pipe to follow a radius use hole saws the proper size in a drill press.
For instance, your trigger assembly.1.5 mated to 4'' use 4'' hole saw. Find center of pipe to be cut and space off a stop,to hold it while cutting.Just touch saw, when running, to pipe to make sure cutting to center. Perfect radius every time .It can even be angled by elevating pipe. Easy, but must use stops or clamps.
I'm making stand offs on new gun w 1''pvc.4'' radius cut on one end ,1''radius cut on the other. Makes nice saddle fit, ready to glue.

Don't mean to bore you. Thanks again!

I was blabbing about PVC pipe.Cutting a radius on the end to mate to an other pipe, perfect fit.No file use. Clean quick cuts.
