DWV is a pipe rating that stands for Drain Waste and Vent. If something just has dwv on it and not pw, then it isn't pressure rated. Some of your fittings are dwv.

usually on silencers there are holes drilled on the outside to let the sound waves out, i think thats what he is refering to

im using pipe rated for 173psi and i wont take it pass 100psi.
DWV fittings on a paintball gun should be safe up to 80 but might as well buy new fittings so you can take it higher.

The port that excausts the gas is called "the barrel"

What I'm talking about is the porting (holes) drilled out of the silencer that let absorbed air escape. The barrel is ported to release air into the silencer where it goes through a dampener to decrease the usual "pop" a projectile makes when it's leaving the barrel. So what happens to all the air that got absorbed into the silencer? It escapes! How does it do that? Port holes!

In my comment I pointed out that I did not see any of these holes, therefore, I made the incorrect assumption that it was "mock."

Great name for that gun BTW!

well in the "silencer" i lightly packed insulation (to dampen some of the sound) so the ir behind the ball is contianed by the volume of the silencer and is released slowly as apposed to without a silencer. basically it lessens the psi behind the painball so there is less noise

i like the look of your gun, its unique in a way. i usually just stick with over under designs and basic ones. im still convinced that a cannon will work better if you keep it as basic as you can. anyways nice job, i wouldn't reck your cannon by replacing everything with DWV fittings, it should be fine, but don't go over 100PSI, EVER. stray away from DWV fittings for future cannons. maybe you'll be able to launch your spuds into the stratosphere with your next one Wink

Simple cannons arn't as good as complicated cannons as complicated ones usally have like piston valves or propane or chuck pumpkins half a mile.but simple cannons are alwayz fun, cheap and never break Very Happy
