Dry ice

Hey I have not found too much on this topic.
I was thinking of Dry ice and how it could possibly be used in a make shift on the go air compressor. Think about it, you want to go shoot your pnumatic throw in a handfull of dry ice in a large metal (have to be metal) tube screw the top or bottom on and you would have a fitting on the end so you can charge your pneumatic with some CO2 gas. Dry ice is fairly if not very cheap get a bag for like 2-3 bucks and it phase changes very quickly around room temp.
Of course you would have to wait for it to change from solid to gas and it would be cold but just a thought.

problem is you would have to carry around the dry ice in highly insulated containers and have all the gear to handle it.

i had the idea once to make a metal chamber to hold the dry ice and pressurize it up to like 2000 psi. then regulate it to like one hundred and you could get many shots out of it. this might be what your talking about anyway. but i dont have the money, time, or need to build something like this.

Unless you got the co2, stuffed it into a cylinder, let it all change to gas then use it but then you're back at a charged cylinder.

If you just took out a metal cylinder stuffed with dry ice you might get a slowly replenishing pressure cylinder but its not going to recharge anywhere near as fast as a compressor.

The whole point was to not use a compressor and yes i would plan on on putting CO2 into the cylinder that was the whole point but what do you mean by "you're back at a charged cylinder".

Well you've essentially got just a charged cylinder of co2 if you let it all turn to gas which you could have got instead.

with dry ice you can customize the tank though. Valves, size, popoffs, gauges, ect.

i still would buy the gas and a reg though before i would do this

KVINCEO caught on i was just looking for a cheaper way. but yea djt would it be cheaper to just fill gas up at sporting goods i don't know. thats what ive been trying to figure out. But im done with this topic it really isn't a problem to me anymore.
