even though the mini did intrigue me, i have to go with GB Semi because these are spud guns, the pen project is not going to be firing spuds

*ahem*

The GB semi, by definition, can only fire golf balls - indeed my pengun has a better chance of firing vegetable matter than clide's launcher. I'm half tempted to post a video firing a 2.5mm calibre section of spud but it's past my bedtime Razz And may I remind you that the original spudgun didn't fire whole potatoes either Wink

Thanks for the support guys but I must concede that clide went into a lot more sophistication with his GB semi and I don't mind coming second to his design Smile

Only 99.978% of the members haven't voted! We're getting there! Hahaha. It almost doesn't seem fair to me to declare a winner with so few people voting, but I suppose we have to.

i voted for clide but it was realy close in my mind. i figured this new valve is pretty revolutionary and deserves to win for all the work he in designing a realistic large scale semi

For me it was a close call between the GB Semi and Fnord's hybrid, because he finally broke the mold and made a burst-disk-less hybrid.

I love the engineering and planning and work that went into all of these guns though (especially jackssmirkingrevenge's pen gun and Chaos's sniper) but I think the GB Semi was the most unique, revolutionary design, so it won my vote.

I think third place should get a prize too, because Fnord did a nice job on that hybrid. I'd chip in $5 for the third place prize... anyone else want to? lol.

Peace,
Pete Zaria.

Not to be a jerk, but why is my gun always considered non-inventive?My gosh, I built the first break open breach loader for a spud gun.

@Goathunter,
Don't get me wrong, your gun is an excellent piece of work, too.
I suppose the reason I don't consider a break-open breech to be that innovative is that it seems like a natural step to me.
Shotguns have been using it for hundreds of years, and your mechanism proves that it can be done very simply and easily. I
compliment you on the simplicity of your design, by the way - less moving parts means less $hi7 that can go wrong.
I'm not insulting your gun, I just didn't find it to be the most innovative of the guns in this contest. I'd still love to shoot it... lol

Peace,
Pete Zaria.

Yeah, it gets on my nerves a little that no one seems to appreciate the simplicity of the design.I tried to make it simple. It seems that worked against me.I understand were you are coming from,It is nothing new to the world of firearms just spudguns.
My personal preference was revosemi.I believe it is the one truly innovative gun.
