Well, after my bad experience with a stun gun I went back to the pneumatic way of life. I have been looking at Coaxil Piston guns (Think that's what their name is) and the set up just grabbed me. It looked so easy and simple, but I learned it does take a bit of work.
The chamber is one foot of 2", and the barrel is three foot of 3/4".
Most the parts were scrap or extras so the over cost was around seven bucks. This is my first one so it's nothing pretty. I was wanting to use a blow gun, but was easier and cheaper to have my set up.
The piston is around 2 inches of 1.5" with a small plastic tube in the middle that acts as a brace for the peices of tubaware lids on either side. I put two wraps of duct tape around the piston then covered it in Teflon to help it slide easier.
The rest is pretty much self explainitory, and once again. Im sorry the pictures suck. I only has a crappy web cam to get pictures on my pc.

| I would'nt call this the exhaust, but it's all that comes to mind. Simple layout, one side is a ball valve, other side is a tire valve. Fill and turn. |

I love this time of year! Everyone starts putting out cannons. (Myself included hopefully soon) Very, Very clean construction.
Sorry for the lack of a better word, but how is your "ghetto" diaphram working? I just cant imangine duct-tape and tupaware contraption sealing very well.

| Isnt it a piston not a driaphram?and it made of 2inches of 1.5" pipe with tupawear barrel and chamber sealing?thats what i can get from his post.

Gah, forgot to say it was one of those rubbery tubaware lids. It pushes against the barrel and seals better than I thought. I tried putting like a foam layer over the tubaware but it did'nt do much but clutter. I reget to say I have yet to shoot it, I give all my guns 24 hrs to dry but I have tested the piston to see if it will slide when pressure is put in.
So yea, the piston is very ghetto, but like I said: The gun is made of scraps and extra parts. So the overall cost was low. this way if the gun craps out, not a big financial loss.
EDIT: ***PUFF*** My happyness faded when I saw my Piston not working. It moves around the chamber with little force, but does'nt get pushed at all when the compresion starts. Could the hole I put in the front of the piston be too big and letting too much air through and not letting enough build up behind the piston to move it?

I'll try your idea beebs, and when you say rubber epoxied on, you mean on the open end or the closed end? I realize this sounds dumb to ask, but I have two or three ideas in my head and not sure which one you're going at.
Pimpmann, I tried to say it in a nice way. But, at least it made you laugh before it got...Puffed. lol

sorry for the l8 response  i typed it before i sprinted out the door to catch my bus  you want the rubber epoxied onto the closed end. another method that works with a 4" chamber and 2" barrell(idk if it workd with this due to availability, is a 1/4" cap(in 2") or 3" cap(in 4") with one of those rubber drain plugs epoxied or bolted on, so it needs less pressure to seal  cya, and good luck with your gun. i am building one that is similar, but with a minigun style grip and another handle so it looks sicknasty and is easy to hold!

| tupperware doesnt work all that well, try just getting some neoprene washers or some sheet rubber

| I opened the gun up and took the piston out, it's still the 1.5" pipe with the tubaware front and now it's electrical taped. The front has a peice of rubbery foam that seals really well. It's from a craft section at walmart, no idea what it's called, but its a foamy rubber that you can't blow air through. Squishy enough to seal around the barrel, so it should work. Gonna re gluethe gun some time soon after I rebuild the top. Im confident it'll work though
