I was working on my cannon to make it so i could remove the barrel from the chamber and atatch another usingmale ad female adapters. I was just wondering if it is ok to connect a female adapter directly to a reducer using the abs cement(the parts im using are also ABS) they dry fit snuggly so dint see a problem, but i just thought that maybe the joining peices (like couplings, adapters ad reducers) are weaker than cementing the adapter right to a pipe. the sizes im using is a 2 inch female adapter and a 2-1.5 reducer.

so you're saying you want to fit a 2" female adapter over the 1.5" end of a reducer? no, that might blow on you, dont cut corners with these things, if its not made to be glued like that, dont glue it like that

If thats what you mean No.Va i wouldnt do it because common sense tells you that the glue wont hold the explosion after a few times and the gun will explode (something like that). I have to admit when im in a hurry i cut corners. I was at my freinds house and we wanted to make a gun so we filled in the gap from a 2" pipe to a 3" pipe with glue then duct taped it. I here to testify to you that you can if you have a will but i wouldnt recommend it.

ill post a picture to show what i mean, and i mean i fit the end that usually goes onto the pipe onto the 2'' end of the reducer, not the screw-on end(i forgot what its called), it fit extreamly tight and when i dry fitted it it was extreamly hard to get off and then i glued both parts(which are both abs) together with abs cement. i dont see what exactly is wrong, isnt it the same as cementing the reducer to the pipe?

Im attaching the opposite end of the female adapter(the smooth side) to the reducer onto the 2'' side of the reducer, then the 1.5'' side is to the 1.5'' pipe, im using female and male adapters so i can connect different barrels to my chamber, i used to have a 2'' barrel but i made this new barrel (with the reducer and female adapter) to shoot smaller items like say, golf balls.

OH ok, i get it, you should be fine, as long as the female adapter isnt just a cleanout adapter (smooth side is the same size as the pipe.)

whats the problm with ti being a cleanout adapter? i bought these parts at the canadian tire by my house and damn, that place is a huge peice of crap, they do nothing right and someitmes the parts arnt labeled right, the sign said it was a female adapter but there was a cap screwed onto all of them so it might be a cleanout adapter, is there something wrong with them?

its just that they dont have as many threads as a normal female adapter, i've seen them used on launchers sometimes, so you should be good, if you dont want to use it get a small piece of pipe and a normal female adapter (fits over pipe)
