I'm and I think other older members, are getting feed up with the lack of grammar/ class. Almost all the posts I have read today are similar to if someone jammed a whole bunch of lower-case letters into a shotgun and blasted them into the text input area.

How to format the subject of your topic:

1. Use UPPER-CASE letters to start important words.
EX: "Reverse Injection Thruster Rockets",
rather then "reverse injection thruster rockets"

2. Spell the d*mn word right!
EX: "Hybrid Fueling Methods",
rather then "hibrid fuling method"

3. Make sure your subject name reflects the subject matter of your post.

How to format text in a discussion:

1. Use the fricken' "SHIFT" key (its on both sides of the keyboard). I swear some of you have never used a capital letter before.
EX: "I went to Home Depot today, and bought Rainbird sprinkler valves.",
rather then "i went to home depot today and bought rainbird sprinkler valves"
(sorry I couldnt space the words over cause it moved the whole next line)

2. Spell right! (I outta tell your english teacher, and have him/ her beat you with a blunt instrument) If you struggle with big words like me, just sound it out, so others and I arent playing scramble with your careless post. I can do jumping jacks while looking the other direction and still beat some of you in spelling.
EX: "I just built my first hybrid launcher"
rather then "i jist bilt mi frst hibrid lancher"

I'm not saying that you need to go overboard with formating, but just spend some time so I can tell where the sentaces start and end. The only thing Spudtech has on Spudfiles is more members, and they can use basic grammar skills. To summerize whats above, just spend more time on grammar when posting. Any off-topic replys will be deleted. Thank you for your time.

Funny - I was just thinking about the same problem the other day. I didn't want to risk sounding rude, though, so I kept it to myself.
People who are too 1337 or too stupid to post in plain English really bug me. Sometimes I can't understand a word they're saying.

"But what about people from non-English-speaking countries?"

Ah, there's a good question. A real pickle. I'm in one of those countries and I don't have awful spelling and grammar. DO I? Very Happy Sure, I may not be perfect, but I have the decency to look up a word if I can't spell it.
I guess one can only hope for the best.

This has been your Tuesday morning watered-down rant Laughing

Yes. It's 5:11 in the morning, and although I may be too tired to make a cup of coffee, I'm not tired enough to respond to this. Pimpmann's absolutely right.

Oh yeah, it's spelled PNEUMATIC. Not phumatic, phenmatic, phemic or any other variation on the word.

We could start right now:

-'s
Used to form the possessive case of singular nouns, plural nouns that do not end in s, certain pronouns, and phrases that function as nouns or pronouns: nation's; women's; another's; the girl next door's cat.

The plural of key is keys. The plural of dictionary is dictionaries.

Oh, I'm so evil Twisted Evil

I'm glad this topic has been brought up. I know this is a somewhat informal place when it comes to grammar and writing skills...It's not like a college level composition class. However, in order to communicate clearly, one must at least attempt to use good grammar. Sure, mistakes happen. See that little edit button on your post? Use it! Just take your time and read through your post before you submit it. Not only will it be easier for everyone to read, but after everyone checks their own posts...this topic will be dead.

This is a great site for all the spelling needs you have:
http://dictionary.reference.com/

That site also has a thesaurus and an encyclopedia.

This is off topic but, I can't control myself.

Lucas_Pukas,
Did you sketch the drawing in your sig or find it on the web? Either way I love it. It is a fantastic drawing. Great tonal values and pencil stroke control. I am impressed. Oh yeah, the gril is gorgeous too Smile

This is on topic...
What about the chat acronyms everyone uses? This is far from correct English but, I like it. It makes things so much more efficient. Here are some examples:
BTW
ASAP
AFK
OIC
LOL
IMHO
ROTFL
ROTFLMAO
L8R
CYA
The list goes on and on. If you don't know these "chat abbreviations", and you are using electronic communication such as the internet, you need to learn them. Here is a site with some of the more common ones to get you started.

---> http://www.englishclub.com/esl-chat/abbreviations.htm <---

Now we all know that this form is incorrect when referring to "proper written English" but, it makes typing and reading faster. This is JMO.

One other thing that aggravates me is the use of the hyperlink function in posts (lack of it I should say). It is so east to insert the link the proper way in your posts, and it saves the reader alot of time.

OK no more ranting form the ChickenChucker today.

BTW, this topic should be made "Sticky" IMHO.

One thing that really bugs me is when people use question marks after sentences that aren't questions. For example, the post above me, sorry jrrdw but it bugs me.
