It's completely irrelevent to the purpose of this site. It's equivelant to spam. If you guys want to cretique other people's writing go find some other gay man's website to do it!  |

When i first came here i was the same as you THEMOST i was wondering why he was going on about grammar and what not but now that ive been here longer i can see how frustrated(sp?)you can get with not understanding posts or taking alot longer to decypher(sp?)the txt message that belongs on a phone not a internet site that tells you how to build potentially dangerous weapons that could possibly kill or badly injure someone, so this website has to be really saftey concious and inforce rules e.g "no discussion of solid propellents" etc and one rule really should be spell every word in full and if you don't know how use spellcheck or do your best and put "(sp?) after the mis-spelled word,if someone types down all this crap that is hard to understand like:
"cn i use abs in hbd?
they could end up blowing themselves up as no one knew what they said in the first place so they thought it must be alright. |

I see youre point but he just doesnt shut up about it even when it is legible. If someone spells canan like that then i think it's pertty obvious that it means cannon. But pimpy has to go on his faggoty rampants and it really gets on my nerves when he spams up the threads.

| The reason I like these forums so much is that there are people on here who actually care about grammar and not being to lazy to type a few more characters. And THEMOST, you I do not like, you are close minded and quite biggoted, your over use of the words "gay" and "faggot" in a negative connotation(sp) are demeaning and will turn people away from this site. I myself am not gay but I do have respect for anyone but people like you. |

Malman, here here. Hell, my text messages contain better grammar and punctuation then most posters on this forum. Although my stance that the bar should be raised frequently gets railroaded.
The only thing I like about the SpudTech forums is the degree of grammar. The content there sucks. Here we got content, but sh*tty grammar in which to communicate such ideas. The most 'text messaging' grammar I wanna read in a post is the size of my cell phone screen.
Squishy, quite surprisingly ive been on the receiving end of what THEMOST believes to be 'brutal' attacks. By THEMOSTs standards the following are true:
-Im a fag
-People dont give a sh*t what I think
-Im a post whore
-I often post off topic
-And the kicker, im a 'pethetic loser' |

| Of course coming from him pathetic would be spelled incorectly, his 'brutal' attacks is what pushed me to make that post, I'm the same way with my texts, I use whole words and some punctuation. It's really not that hard even in text mesages to press an extra key or two to spell 'you' instead of 'u' or 'be' instead of 'b'. I've actually blocked a lot of the people in my phone book from sending me messages because of this. Keep on posting the way you post and trying to raise the bar, and I will be right with you for it. |

Seriously, of course I am capable of conversing at a "higher level." For a time, I too was offended by the negative use of words like "fag." But you know, people being offended by it to the point of automatically disregarding the opinions of anyone who casually says "fag" are pathetic. Just as are all of you losers making a huge deal of useless and irrelevant grammar. I come here to get ideas and info, and to share my own knowledge and labors - and to do it quickly. Then you start flame wars over bad grammar. And you wonder why I would call you a pathetic loser? Honestly, you people (pimpmann22 especially ... And you actually think that sort of identity is socially correct?!) suck. Get a life and stop ruining these forums.  |

We aren't ruing these forums, we are trying to improve them but inconsiderate pricks like you and the people who just simply don't care enough to use even some punctuation hinder this. You can still share ideas and labors quickly if you would put a little more effort into learning to type. Casually saying fag as a negative word is why some people have no respect for gay people because the terms used against them are negative so they are portrayed and worthless or negative. THEMOST if you would engage maybe even three more braincells maybe you would see this and our points.
OH and that sort of identity is socially correct because it has to do with respect, now go back to your self loathing little pathetic excuse of a life. |

There is no need to punctuate correctly because that isn't the purpose of the website. If you can get the point across without making it seem like a formal essay them thats how it should be done. These are forums and if you go to any other website with them you will in fact find that they are not punctuated correctly so get used to it. I am not a "prick" for telling you fags to stop spamming up the forums whenever someone makes a grammatical error. People like you are butt a mere "skidmark on the underpants of society". (I love that line)
Speaking of skidmarks, by the way I DO NOT have respect for gays. Do you even think about what makes them gay. It's Fu**ing sick! and if you think that a man stickin' it up another dude's A hole  you've got something else coming! ...and its not pregnancy... Man-o-man! Some of you just got to bent out of shape because of a minor request to take something and do it rite. I really don't see the need in provoking a argument because of someones point of view.
If i read correctly The Most drug out the gay part of this. The Most, are you gay? Since you started talking about it i guessed it would be safe to ask. If so, there is another member here that outed himself in the "Girfriend" thread, maby you guys could hook up and date or something. |

First would you care to explain where your basing these conclusions of my non-web based life behaviors are emerging?
The reason why a basic level of grammar is asked of is so that ideas can be easily expressed, and in turn, understood. While I know it is hard for you to accept since I, myself am not of posts containing perfect grammar, but does one have to be of ‘perfect’ standards before ones advice can be followed? I think not. As ‘SquishY’ has pointed out, it is important that such ideas and remarks concerning ‘spud guns’ be clearly understood and expressed. [While I remember on my first sprinkler valve cannon after reading several articles and posts concerning pneumatically actuated sprinkler valves I had believed that the blow gun was to be connected to the sprinkler valve in one port, and the other leading to the chamber. While this misunderstanding did not result in any loss in my level of health, or damage of property (A few dollars lost, and some time lost) it illustrates how concepts, and ideas can be easily misunderstood. You could imagine how something of a similar nature could happen, yielding harmful results.
Secondly, while it may take the poster more time to compose a post containing a sufficient level of grammar, it actually allows the readers of such to spend less time reading such. It may take you 5 minutes to maintain this heightened level of grammar, while it’ll save every reader of such a minute or so. If you have 100 readers reading that post, you can see how this is beneficial. Time and forum space is not spent on the unnecessary correction of information due to a lacking of grammar. My posts alone would not hold up to the critizm of a English teacher. So if we cannot reach this ‘standard’ does that mean that we should simply not strive for better grammar? Could you imagine reading a manual for a item that contained no capitalization, punctuation, and paragraphs spanning the length of the documentation?
Third, can you solely not do it out of the request of another member? Why do we wipe our assholes after we take a sh*t? It is not required for the functioning of our body, it takes time, and it costs money. By your standards Id find the practice of wiping your ass to be rather ridiculous and unnecessary. While if someone requests that you do so, they are ‘fags’ and can be accessed of being possibly of a ‘gay‘ status. Your posts ‘stink’ because you fail to wipe.
Regarding you poop skid statements…
While you claim me to be of a disgrace of society, I would not consider yourself, one of lesser grammatical skills, being undisciplined, and of childish like insults to be of a greater status compared to that of myself.
I think your rather ridiculous accusations of members being gay, illustrates your immaturity. |
