Hello all.

I'm trying to make a PVC Paintball Sniper but I can't find Primer anywhere. I was wondering if I can use Tangit PVC Cleaner and Cement instead?

Thank you.

Thank you for the quick answer but I live in Central America. Laughing

no don't ask the employees, they usually don't know crap and they tend to treat you like your stupid especially if your young. I don't know the standards were you live, but in the US primer is available at every hardware store and it dyes the pipe purple or sometimes a blueish or greenish color so inspectors know the plumbing was installed correctly, so maybe if you don't have those standard in you country your common primer might not be dyed, to tell you the truth if you clean your pipe well with soap and water then maybe wipe it alcohol or acetone, you can glue them without primer, the cement already has key priming ingredients in it so primer isn't completely necessary, but the stuff is cheap so if you can find it when you buy your parts there's no excuse to not use it

I understood.

Thanks for all your answers. I will go tomorrow and search myself, because as you said the people there don't know what I'm looking for.

In some countries the primer is listed as cleaner. The key is it will soften the plastic surface some besides removing all grease based residue such as ink, pipe markings, etc.

Why the **** would you not ask the people who work there?

Any idiot who works at a hardware store knows what primer is.

Unless as tech pointed out... you live out of the USA and they call it something else.

But seriously, any store that sells PVC has people who BUY pvc come in there. Just ask someone what you should use to glue it together.

Its not a hard question. PVC primer is required for in-home PVC plumbing job, so they have it. JUST FREAKING ASK! Shocked

That is assuming the place he goes to has PURPLE primer... the can may be a different color and he would have NO IDEA what he is looking for. [/sarcasm]
