A few years ago, i had a gass grill sparker laying aorund, and i decided to make somehting go bam with it. I found a large pill bottle that had a years supply of multivitamins in it (i took them out). i first just drilled a hole and sprayed hairspray in it. surprisingly, the force of the gas escaping was enogh to make the bottle fly out of my hands! I had recently found that 2.5 pen tubes was enough to have an adequate barrel lengh to acheve the highest velocity. because the bottle I was using was VERY much larger than a film can, I opted on 15-18 pen tubes taped togehter as a barrel. the reuslting barrel was about 8 feet long!!!! my first shot, with a .12 gram airsoft bb was amazingly powerful. i clicked the igniter, heard a PFFFFFFTTTT, and the next thing i knew there was a hole in my wall! I will post some pics later of the airsoft bb in my wall as proof....
Im just trying to give people new ways to make their mini's hella powerful..... |

| Wow, airsoft through a wall, that sounds powerfull. Do the bumps between the pens hinder preformance? |

| Yeah is accuracy was horrible. i tried sniping with it..... no luck at all.... the bb just flew randomly. By the way im still trying to get pic of the BB up.... i wish i still had the pic of the unopened soda can i shot. it just detonated...... i was left with the top of the can, the bottom, and the rest of the can in one single sheet, along with a PERFECT hole that the BB entered through. i dont know why it was so powerful, i think its like the coke+mentos explosion exept its almost like shaking it up.... anway it was cool |

Woah, that thing is powerful. Could you comare the size of the bottle to something, because this sounds like something I will have to build myself.
And could someone point me to a good site so I can figure out how a burst disk works? I'm having hell even finding a site about burst disks work. |

Just out of interest where do you put the burst disk on a pill bottle?
Btw Swolengut67- A burst disk is a bit of material like a disk of foil, plastic or metal which you clamp between the barrel and chamber to keep a pressurised mixture in the cannon chamber before it gets ignited.
When the mix is ignited the burst disk gets blown through by the blast, allowing the combustion gases to escape down the barrel. |

| All i did was put the tube really far into the barrel, then cut a peice off the pen cap, i would put the peice of paper (what i used) on the barrel then slide the ring i made out of the cap over it. o, and the bottle i used was about 2 inches wide and about 3 inches long. it was one of those bottles that didnt deserve to have a single pen tube as the barrel. Also, i came across a discovery today. the "staples comfort stick" pen tubes fit 1/4 inch steel slinghost ammo perfectly, and airsoft bb's better than normal pen tubes. 1/4 inch steel does ALOt of damage for a mini....... |

| yeah, mini combustion are very powerful for their size. I had a mini once, that fired an airsoft BB .20grams, at 170 m/s. |

| I figured out the reason for the immense power....... the long/small ID airsfot barrel has a very low flow rate. this lets the pressure in the cmaber to reach pressures of over 100 PSI...... i detonated my chamber last night. it just went BAM! (really loud). im pretty sure a 6 foot barrel would be pretty intense one one of theses, im gonna make one........ |
