I think I know what I'm doing next time I make a mini.
I had a look at the valve/pump from a moisturising/hand cleaning thing and it couldn't have been made better, it's a joke. At the bottom there's a check valve with flow into the chamber. At the top it's basically and opening, but because of the check valve it pumps fluid/air out.
Simple enough. Hook barrel up where liquid usually comes out. Press barrel in, air is forced out of the barrel. As you let go, the spring returns and draws air in through the check valve. That is just made too well. Add a sparkgap and fuel metering and you have the fastest firing mini combustion.
By the way, the chamber vents openly to the barrel.
piece of cake, when I can be bothered I'll sleeve it in some pipe, make a sparkgap that the piston wont hit and hook up a 1 touch metering system.
If no-one knows what I am talking about I'll get pics.
Edit: pictures.
It's a pump like you'd get on this:
uncompressed
back of the ball check valve
compressed

Wow that sounds awesome. maybe you could replicate it in pvc to make a full size combustion . But yes, pics would be good. |

Me, make a full size gun? Rarely..
It vacuums just fine on air (even though it''s intended for liquid).
I'll get some pictures up and add them to the first post. I decided that if I'm going to use this kind of setup I shouldn't be lazy and make it properly. It's a starting point though.
Edit: pics up
Idea: Instead of drawing in just fresh air from the check valve, why not use a venturi so it draws in a stoichometric mixture of air-propane/butane/mapp? Or even oxy-hydrogen, that would work even better seen as this is designed to pump fluids.
By the way; it would make sense to have two check valves, but it has one. |

dick
I don't know exactly what this was from, I just described it as a moisturizing thing because that's the first thing that came to mind.
If I put some work into it I could do the following:
Pushing back piston purges chamber and opens bolt, allowing projectile in.
Letting go draws in stoichometric fuel mixture and closes the bolt.
And rig up a nice pump action looking thing.
Though if I'll bother, who knows.. |

Hey!, i just got one of those but instead of making it into a combustion i made it into a pneumatic i attached a schrader into the sucky hose thing, pump it up then when you press the top pump thing all the air gets dumped very quickly. Need to get my self a shock pump ive only got this little hand pump
Anyway i recomend making one there realy fun soon ill post a topic with some pics and vids. |

| Not really done anything about it. If I run into some cheap lighter with a good venturi i might do it, but I have other things to do currently. |
