High Power and Velocity Rifle:

This design was based off of Frockies' and Rag's copper cannons. It has the handle of Frockies' and the pistonvalve and soon to be qev piston of Rag's.

Starting with the barrel, its a marble barrel, alum to be exact. its 50" long and is a bolt action. the alum barrel slides in and out of a .5" pvc section and i have orings in there for a good seal.

my piston valve is a 2" black steel tee. the main piston housing is a piece of 1.5" galv pipe. inside that pipe, a 1.5" end cap with a sealing face and bumper. i added an oring to make the piston more airtight.

the pilot right now is just a .5" ball valve but in the future (tomrw) my .5" qev comes and i'll put that where the end tee is (where the hose comes from after the piston) and then that qev will be piloted by the .5" ball valve and the qev will pilot the piston .

Main opperating pressure is 150psi
My main ammo is 4g marbles, ggdt says ~760fps
Another barrel that i am looking for is a 6mm bb barrel and ggdt says 1407fps for a .12g bb

i ordered a low power scope and i will attach it to the top.

here are some pics

good job, though the fittings seem to be capable of more than 150 psi ;) I'll spare you comments about hose length as power is probably good enough anyway.

hah thanks!

yeah the fittings are easily capable of 200+ but my co2 reg only goes to 150 =(( im thinking of just getting a shock pump and pumping to a little hit higher in the future.

That chamber will take quite a bit of pumping, what you could do it take it to 150 with CO2 then top it up with air. Also you'd need to add a schrader valve for filling.

oh yeah thats what i meant =P.. i'll take a make quick connect and add a schrader valve to it and then once i fill with co2, i'll disconnect the co2 male, then put in the schrader male and pump from there. but even if i start at 150psi, would it take me ages to pump to 200psi with a shock pump? my chamber is ~36cu-in

Very nice, clean, and well built. I expect bigger and better cannons now :D

It takes me less than a minute to take a 2 cubic inch chamber to 400 psi, taking it to 200 would take a while but it wouldn't be an implausible task.

Go on, give us some damage pics, given the barrel length and valve efficiency it must be quite an efficient penetrator :)

likimyscrotchus: thanks, but im working my way down =P i've made plenty of large cannons but they get kinda troublesome, so i built a small powerful one =)

damage pics i'll take some tomrw, so far, i've only done some practice shots on my .5" plywood and it just cuts it like butter. i'll see if i can get a video by tomrw as well.

Wow that looks good. Looking forward to it with the qev instead of the ball valve.

Lovely.

You've clearly got a much shorter piston and travel than I normally use. What I'm not sure if you've said was the seat diameter.

Waiting for the damage pics...
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?

Nice cannon man i like it a lot i hope you get that qev. To me it seems like the pessure gauge would get in the way.
