Do you mean telekinesis (the power to move things with one's mind) , or telepathy (the ability to mentally communicate)?
It just seems that the second would fit what I think you mean better.
Still, those pedantics aside, it's cool that your parents support your hobby that much.
Mine might not be so helpful if I ever got into a similar situation, although my neighbours are all aware of and accepting of my hobby, so I hope it doesn't.
I have to hope that none of the people nearby move out and get replaced by some bastard who won't tolerate anything at all. |

If you want to silence such a thing, you may use a baffled up garage... |

Well, one of my friends has 150 acres of secluded farmland I can use it on, so I scrapped the whole silencer idea. You might want to expect some interesing videos in the next few weeks as a result of the use of this new testing space. Also, the testing this coming Sunday is back on |

Hey DYI, I've got plenty of land for you to use that beast on. I'll even haul it down here! *Charges stunguns and loads tear gas*
But that is a pretty damn sweet hybrid. Gives me hope for the world. I really like the simplicity metering system, although I haven't had that many misfires testing my air-through-meter design for the hybrid I've been working on since early this year, that I still haven't touched. The gauges aren't actually as much of a burden as you may think.
Too bad I'm all out of money from buying my PCP air rifle. The hybrid I'm working on is 2" SCH-40, which gives me much confidence, seeing as you're using 4". But... there's always the summer. |

I just finished a proper stand for it, and revamped the meter to accept air or oxygen, or some combination thereof. I'll probably post a new thread after I finish testing and make it all pretty.
I'm aiming for at least 20 shots on Sunday, including a 6 or 7x if possible at the end, to see if the barrel can survive a spike of 800 psi. If it doesn't, I won't be shedding any tears, as it was only $20, and I need a copper one anyway. |

The first shot leaked because the union wasn't properly tightened/aligned, the next four shots worked, but never hit anything, the sixth shot was a dud (the disk was too strong), and the seventh shot ripped apart the first 12" of the barrel. So no videos |

hybrids is fun in every case..
if it works it is a hole longer ahead of the gun.
it it fails there is a hole where the gun used to be. |

I'd just like to say, to anyone reading this that might be considering building a hybrid: DO NOT USE A PVC BARREL If that barrel had been PVC, we'd have all had shrapnel wounds, possibly permanent damage. The energy of the failure was quite impressive.
I don't think I'll be getting a metal barrel though. It is extremely impractical to use a launcher this long unless you have a range in your back yard. Otherwise, it's just too unwieldy to be worthwhile. Right now I'm working on a way to get satisfactory power with a 6' or shorter barrel, which probably means using higher mixes. Which means spending more money. Which I seem to be running short of lately.
So the current idea is to make a 6' long, reinforced ABS barrel (1.5" inside 2" with fiberglass filling the space in between), and use it as a handheld I would still have more muzzle energy than the biggest version of the SCTBDC, and slowly turning the steel plate into something with the consistency of swiss cheese with it shouldn't be too difficult.
But I still have the SCH 80 4" steel pipe, and it WILL be the meanest hybrid in the land by the end of the summer. Guaranteed. |
