as you can tell, it's a regular slug, but with a domed front face. you put this into your barrel, fill the barrel with BBs (or other stuff), when it's fired, the slugs dome will spread the BBs evenly. the flat ring on the edge is to protect the barrel from too much damage, it could also be tapered in, i realize this flat or tapered edge is going to know some BBs off course, and since the slug has more mass (more momentum), a parachute can be attached to the rear of the slug, and will be deployed as so as the slug exits the barrel. the front of the dome is a bit flat so some BBs still travel forward.
i guess a spud does the same thing, but most are not cut so perfectly.
does anybody see any problems? any suggestions? comments? |

Let's lik what?? And who is taxpaker??
Whatever...The idea of adding a parachute to slow the thing down is idiotic
if you consider you're trying to make buckshot...
If you really wanna spread bb's...build a strafer.. |

i'm trying to get a spread about the size of a 1 1/2 driveway at 5 meters
if the slug did not de-accelerate faster than the bbs, the slug would put a circle in the spread |

Still to much of a hasle.Try a piece of string tied to the inside of the barrel or something. So the slug doesn't even leave the barrel, just dangles out.
That way you don't have to retrieve it.
A parachute would look ridiculous. |

| I dont think it would be worth the time in my opinion. I mean the dome is a little too much, you could just make a potatoe slug and then drop some bbs on top i think that there wouldent be much diference, but i could be wrong. Ive wraped bbs in paper and they work perfect because the paper cant withstand the speed so it somes appart 3 feet from the barrel leaving the bbs alone. |

tried that once, i used a chain, with a bolt right through my barrel, the chain broke, and the slug still made about 150 yards, this was like 2 years ago |

| salad when you tried with the chain did you make the chain a few feet longer than your barrel so (if it worked as planned) the slug could get out of the barrel and dangle there? |

yea, long, it worked once, the second time it just snapped, yea yea i know it would have kept the pressure in if it was short, i thought it would be sucked back in to the gun if it was sealed.
oh and dont laugh, that was a dog chain X-D |

| Just make should your chain isn't too long or it might swing around and get some revenge. |
