Well hello all,
I tested my inline vortex gun today, and it performed horribly. 
I cannot understand why. Here are the specs on the gun.
2"x6" chamber
Inline vortex block built according to noname's instructions, glued into chamber
24" brakeline barrel
1/8" NPT Brass Nipple threaded into chamber at exactly the spot it is supposed to be, according the instructions thread on an inline vortex
The vortex hole isn't blocked, the barrel is aligned with the vortex so BB's pass into it.
THE PROBLEM: When I shot it, at 100 psi, the BB'S would only sometimes fire out. It seemed to be acting more like a cloud gun than a vortex, because there was no steadiness to it, it would come in spurts, from 1 BB to 10 at once, but that's all I got. No steady stream like I got in my cloud gun, which by the way, performed great. So if someone could PLEASE help me out here, I would greatly appreciate it. I cannot figure out what is going wrong. Please help me.
EDIT: Should I just try to build a block that has a full circle?

| I don't know much about vortex's but the chamber seems pretty big. You could try a plunger system that pushes the bb's closer to the block. I could be wrong though. |

| yea I was thinking about doing a plunger type system or the like, could they maybe just be getting blown around the chamber instead of into the vortex? |

no i dont, I'll probably just build a plunger system, anybody else have input??
EDIT:Is there any risk of packing the BB's so tightly in the chamber with a plunger that they cannot move at all? |

| Give me the dimensions (vortex hole size, total block size) and a couple pictures and I may be able to help a bit. I'd say the chamber was a bit too big; I try to keep them smaller for better feeding and firing rates. |

| I hae just recently made a vortex gun, and what ive done, is had the air comng from under, where the hole is, had a plunger system, reduces all the dead space, and pushes BB's into the vortex (down the sides) i think it is just that there is alot of dead space, try a plunger system. |

I would highly recommend a plunger system, lets you load lots of BB's and then every time you shoot it reduces dead space AND keeps the ammo constantly loaded.
Theyre good. |

K but would a plunger pack the BB's so tightly that they won't be able to move?
UPDATE:vortex block is 3.125" long and 1.5" tall, and 3/4" thick |

How wide is the hole? Is it a full circle, or part of it?
If the plunger is strong enough to keep the BBs packed too tightly, you can just change out the spring. |

dude try this I made a gravity fed inline but sadly I never posted it the chamber is about 6" of 2" PVC and then a 45 degree elbo and then maybe like 4 more inches of 2" PVC and it works AMAZINGLY it doesn't compact the bb's too much so they dont move and it works great.

| i made a simple plunger system on mine out of a spring i made and a 2" washer grided down on a grinding wheel to about 1.9" to make it fit the 2" pipe without getting stuck. i personally think this is the best way to do it. |

Well luckily for Mr.Russ and I, he had some washers that fited perfectly inside the 2", and used a spring from a garden sprinkler. |
