Just checking around to see if anyone around here played any instruments. Just a little thread to post pics and junk of your music machines.
I play the guitar, bass, and keyboard. They're all very fun to play, and I find that keyboarding enhances your guitar skills, where guitar skills enhance keyboard playing. Finger movement and such.
These are all my guitars, with my Fender Stratocaster on the left, my First Act (eww) Les Paul wannabe in the middle and my Cort accoustic on the left.
I'm leaving the Fender as it is, becuase it's one hell of a kickass guitar. The Cort has been stripped down to it's skeleton, because I'm going to customize it with a paintjob, an accoustic pickup, new tuner heads, bridgepins, the works. As for the Les Paul, it was the first guitar I ever got so I really don't wanna mod it in anyway, but it's so beat up it's not funny. Maybe one of these days I'll get around to replacing the Humbuckers and replacing the 3 loose knobs it has.
How bout you other guys? What do you play? |

Lol... yeah, I could have used plans for a cheap pulsejet about a week ago. Come to think of it, I still do.
I have a custom electric guitar (built by my father 'couple of years ago, refurbished by me last month) and I'm beginning to learn how to play it.
But drums have always been a passion of mine. Too expensive of a passion, since I can't even aford an Alesis D4 to make my own electronic set. I may play drums in a local death/thrash band soon if I can find the time... and some drums.
Hope to take pics of my guitar some time soon. |

I've played guitar for about 11 years. Only seriously for 3 or 4 though. I play mostly classic rock and rock (pink floyd, zeppelin, santana, clapton, steely dan, etc...)
Axes in order of preference:
'84 US made Strat setup for low action and 12 gauge strings, with noiseless pickups. Light tan paintjob with white pickguard. I've literally worn all the finish off the neck from playing it so much.
Custom Strat-style guitar my dad and I built. Alderwood body with clear finish, birdseye maple neck with rosewood fretboard and pickguard. Duncan '59 humbucker pickups in bridge and neck positions, Strat noiseless in center. Push/pull tone knobs to select pickups, 34 possible combinations. Locking tremolo bridge, acoustic style headstock. My only regret about this guitar is that the finish is so fragile (scratches very easily). I'm probably going to refinish it. Any suggestions on a tougher finish than lacquer? heh...
Tacoma "Olympia" acoustic/electric. I got this guitar for $250 with a case, spent $80 to have a professional neck job done on it, and it plays better than most Martin's I've played. Maybe this is just personal taste, but I'm amazed how great this guitar is considering how cheap it was.
My amp is a 90s Fender "Deluxe" halfstack with built-in tube head.
What style music do you guys play?
Peace,
Pete Zaria. |

I wanna see a picture of that custom Strat! Sounds like the thing is a real beast.
I wanted to get a half stack, but they're too big for where I play (according to my parents, although nothing is too big for me) so I got stuck with a Behringer. It's not bad 30w with analog controls for distortion. |

| I play trumpet in my school's concert band and jazz band. Started learning the guitar about a month ago, but I'm lazy, so that's kind of drifted off. |

Demon, you don't HAVE to start out with accoustic, I started out with electric. I got an accoustic after I really started getting into country music.
On a side note, i can play the bong... i mean gong. |

| I played Bass guitar, I love the sound. Unfortunately my band used to play all this heavy rock which is one of the only types of music I can't stand. I left the band and haven't played since...too bad... |
