| i thought that mps was really good. i have never done a mps gass metering but i have a torch that runs off of mps and it does not get cloged up. check to see if you have something else is the adapter or hose. cause mps should not clog up anything |

| What is the temp? And when you fill it is the tank valve pointing up or down? |

MAPP = Methyl Acetylene Propadiene Propane
MPS = Methylacetylene Propadiene Stabilized
Same thing. Quite similar to propane, but two of the components (Methylacetylene and Propadiene) have burn rates and energy contents more similar to acetylene. This translates to more power.
Anyway, I don't believe it is possible for the gas to "clog the adapter". However, I do find that in colder temperatures, the cylinder pressure drops substantially, such that the tank valve would appear to "clog" at a certain point.
...Or you may very well have a solid contaminate lodged in the needle valve assembly on your torch head. |

I had this exact problem with MAPP and my Taternator II. After a shot or two, the gas would stop flowing. At first I thought it was my regulator getting iced up inside, but then I noticed that after unscrewing the tank, gas would fisss out of the stem of the torch head, but there was no pressure at the inlet side of the regulator.
After much trial, error and cursing, it turned out that the MAPP was freezing the check valve inside the torch head's stem - the short bit that actually pokes into the tank and opens the tank's little ball bearing valve. To fix, I unscrewed the stem from the torch head, then drilled out the spring and tiny check valve inside it. The stem was very hard to remove because the threads are locktited. Be careful not to scar the shiny stem surface. I reassembled the stem with a fresh coat of locktite on the threads. Works like a charm! I suspect that this check valve freezes by design, preventing liquid fuel from entering the torch head.

| A propane torch head can't be used with MAPP/MPS/Razor gas, but you can use a MAPP/MPS head with propane. So its the propane rig not the tank. |
