Think it would be worth trying? Pretty basic idea to convert 20-40lbs test into pnuematic operation. Ammo stored in a bolt/cartridge unit to emulate loading a crossbow.

That could work, but reloading would be very time-consuming.

Something similar has been done so it should work. Good luck!

Well looks like somebody got to it before me, oh well, the airow gun is pretty cool ,but I like my idea of a small crossbow style. I shall call it the Aircross Softbow Razz

Much more practical to use a slingshot type mechanism to power it than a bow. Like a speargun driving a piston. More compact and easier to get some heavy rubber tubing than a bow.

With that type function you don't need a burst disk. A homemade check valve should do the trick for building up proper pressure.Or simply make the BB fit tighter in the barrel.I've seen a few cheap nerf gun knockoffs work on this same function. And I think some harpoon guns work the same way.

I still like Van Helsing's semi auto. Notice the air tank in the stock.

Yea, I just though the idea of implementing crossbows into the airsoft world would be cool, my idea would use bolt like cartridges. basically it would be like using a real crossbow with realistic loading times. Also I don't know if a nerf like projectile would count in a paintball game. Also I wouldnt want to get shot with a slingshot considering they can be deadly powerful.

This wouldn't much different from a springer. Or am I wrong? The design does look very tight though.
