As a matter of fact it did.
I only did a 1x mix and I and I had ignition on the first try.
I had to install the electrodes on spot, with minimal error. I still need to retap a hole and use a larger bolt because on one i didn't tap it right.
The gun is awkward to fuel using 2 shots of propane for every full mix. So I plan on increasing my meter pipe length so I don't need to run the PSI up to 84psi.

Well, The meet is over, all is said and shot, and a good time was had by all. We shot up an old door we found, blasted over 70 tennis balls over yonder, shot up a bigscreen TV (Very Happy), had a cannon explode, had a chat with Las Vegas' finest, and did "other things". Brian and I were the the only two to show up for the first day. Pimpmann22 SAID he'd be out there around 5:30 or 6 that evening, but didn't show up (???). We mainly spent the time shooting random stuff, and trying to work out some of the bugs on Brian's cannon, which he had hastily thrown together a few hours before he left. I decided to show off Luckythirteen;s piston-valve gun. I pressurized it to 70 PSI, fired, and the whole back end of the valve blew off. We THINK that it became stress-damaged because it hadn't seen a bumper until I got it. Nonetheless, it will get replaced with a schedule 80 fitting for extra strength. The second day, it was mainly brian and me again. Pimpmann22 never showed up, so we didn't have anything but tennis balls and potatoes to shoot. Nonetheless, we had a lot of fun blasting holes in an old door and pallet we found. I got to use Lucky's strafer somewhat. It was a royal pain to fill with BBs and it jammed often, but it was fun nonetheless. It ate holes in the plyboard of the door at 30 feet and ate up asphalt when I shot it at the road. I fired the big tennis ball cannon with a plaster filled ball. Let me tell you, thoes thing go FAR. Sometime around 5, DR showed up and brought all the goodies he said he would, and gave away everything. Well, almost everything. Dave said he had a possible project for the 3" valve he'd like to try it out on, so I let him keep it. After a few months, he said he'll ship the valve to me. The Las Vegas police showed up around 5:30. Apparently they had gotten a call that someone was shooting weapons up where we were. There were a few guys who were firing pistols and rifles near us, so after we chatted for a bit, they went on their way. That had no problem with what we were doing, they were rather interested, and in fact, ironically, one of then suggested we shoot a flaming tennisball. Frankrede showed up soon after, with his hybrid and a HUGE TV. His neighbors were throwing it out, so they picked it up to use as a target at the meet. It was NEAT to shoot at. Everyone got at least one good hit, and there were some weird shots too. One golfball my dad fired actually got embedded in the back of the TV, half in and half out. Another one that I shot went through the TV, and punched a hole in the back of the TV, but did not go out. Frank shot his hybrid as a combustion a few times. Dave had a 3" barreled cannon that we used to shoot an old propane cylinder at the TV (we always missed). All in all, the meet was a success. I really enjoyed it.

Thank-you time:

Dave: Thanks for coming out, if only for a bit again. I really enjoyed the chance to talk to you some more, shoot your cannons, and get some of your stuff. I've got to admit it, you are an amazing craftsman. by the way, what is that project theat you want to use the 3" valve in? I'm intrigued.

Brian: Thanks for making the drive out here, bringing your cannon (as fugly as it was) and the "other stuff". The amount of misfires we had is rather amusing in retrospect, especially as I remember suggesting "maybe you're firing too rich" when it was somewhere around 15 or 20 PSI in the meter Razz

Frank: Thanks for coming out and displaying your hybrid. It looks like you didn't cut any corners in the construction of it. Thanks as well for bringing the "Monster Mutant" potatoes. And finally, las but DEFINITLEY not least, thanks for bringing out the bigscreen TV, which was hands-down the most amusing thing to shoot at the whole meet. Thanks to your Dad as well for providing your transportation for you and the TV.

As for the pictures, The appointed IPLA Photojournalist took 0 pictures. There were some videos taken, and I took 2 pictures of the bigscreen TV.

ugh, i really wish i was able to com out, given that im probably the closest (i heard frank lives in/near LV?) i live in santa barbara, which is a ~3-4 hour drive.

you guys should hold one during the summer because it is easier to make it there.

but i woud be worried about seeming small and measley infront of your amazing cannons. i might have to make something bigger if i were going to come.

SpudMonster, the project I intend on using the 3" valve for is somewhat "classified", but I'd be happy to share it with you in a private convo.

I plan on visiting California soon and will be in the Lancaster / Palmdale / Quart Hill area. It'd be great to setup another spudmeet, even if only to get together for shits and giggles?

It'd STILL be a little over 3 hours drive for BC P and about 3 hours for you?
If there's somewhere closer to you that we can shoot all day, camp all night, all the while not being bothered, then please let me know.

how does that work? i live about an hour drive from there, and (unless his profile lies) BC is in the bay area. thats a ~4 hour drive from me, so it would be a 5 hour drive for him to get there.

if you do organize something, i would gladly come... i might even be able to find somewhere a tad closer to BC ( not sure about spudmonster.)

EDIT: well, maybe im crazy.....

Okay. Now that I have some time, I will throw in my account of things.

As Eric mentioned, up until about 5 o'clock Saturday, it was just us. We had some fun shooting at a door we had found with both cannons and the BBMG he got from L13. His piston cannon (formally L13's as well) blew out the back from the force of the piston, and missed my shin by about a foot or so, which was exciting. We also found a tank full of some goop (for lack of a better term) that has yet to be analyzed. It was a shame that the nice 125psi rated (300psi hydro'ed) fiber tank had been shot through by a bullet.

Dave arrived just before the police, and hadn't even unpacked his car yet. (Yes, it is true, they suggested a flaming tennis ball.) They said we were fine, and admitted to not even knowing the laws for the place. They let the people shooting guns (apparently the reason they came) stay as well, even though an off duty officer had been killed up there by a stray bullet in the past.

Dave unpacked his car unto the ground, and basically told us to pick out what we wanted, after handing out a few things (Mini fans, valve lids, bottle adapters) We all got some really nice stuff, and helped out DR by clearing up some space in is new home.

After assembling a rather small pneumatic from some parts he had (and realizing that it needed a valve after he almost pressurized it without one) he proceeded to show us how much difference his smooth as a baby's ass and tighter than its- erm.... barrel made. I have to say, I am still impressed by the performance of the barrel.

Frank showed up, and saved us from our now pitiful door with a big screen TV to shoot at. I was the first to break the screen, though my shot was terribly off center. Eric got some very nice shots on it, and seemed to rule the meet with is Starter Fluid Skillz. (Seriously, he has an incredible knack for getting near perfect mixes a large majority of the time.)

Frank was working on his hybrid for a while when he got there. It looks very nice, and is a pretty good size one. (4" sch 80, and around 36" long as I recall) I also found his comment to his brother, "Don't you know how to use a stick?" rather amusing.

After we got all (or at least mostly) packed up, we ended up standing around and talking for a while. Everyone seemed to find the conversation interesting, though I think the parents were much more anxious the get going than we were.

Those are the things that came off the top of my head- I am sure that i have left out some good parts, but someone else will fill them in, if they haven't already.

Now that I have typed this out, I have to go write a novel for DR on how to use some of his latest acquisitions.
