FRAG stands for Fast Reloading Airpowered Grenade launcher. I am happy to bring you my new cannon designed not for power, but for safe use on an airsoft field. This is a breech loader as you can see below, and it utilizes the sliding barrel breech loading system. The barrel has no need for a latch to keep it from blowing forward, because the barrel is held in by friction (it opened the breech at 110 psi, but who cares...it made getting the shell out alot quicker). It is also built entirely out of NSF-pw and is safer then my old cannon.

Specs:
chamber: about 7" of 2" sch 40 pvc
barrel: about 12" of 1.5" sch 40 pvc
valve: 1" watermaster modified sprinkler valve
pilot valve: modified husky blowgun

The pics below are self explanatory.

It shot 150ft pointing it parralell with the ground at 100psi. It has some kick.

thats cool. i love the breech loading system. maybe you should get a co2 set up, then you would win every airsoft battle in the world. its expecive, but would be so cool. i think thats what ill build next, it looks so cool, yet so simple.

lol made me laugh. If you cant look at a spudgun like this and not know how it works you shouldn't be making them.

great gun, I am glad people are making good guns for the use of paintball.

Just one Question, how did you make the connector big enough for the barrel to slide through? Do you have a lathe?

That is a very nifty cannon. I really like that kind of breech loader, as well as the sabots. One topic that is constantly touched is: it could use a paint job. However, since you did such a great job on the priming, it looks good even without the paint.

@turbohacker: I'm pretty sure that is a 1.5" T-joint with the stops sanded down so it can slide through.

It is a coupler sanded down so the barrel slides through clamped with a hose clamp onto the chamber.

I cut the inside of the coupler with a pocket knife and sanded the thing out to make it smooth. It didn't take but a couple of hours to do.

I was instead thinking of having a small bike pump mounted to the chamber, which would be cheaper than a CO2 setup (It is easy to pump the whimpy chamber up to 80psi with a good pump). If I ever do get a CO2 setup it will be used for my Vortex Gun.

I tested it out today and shot some cardboard at about 15 ft. The bbs didn't penetrate the cardboard, but they sure left big dents. As I have said, I am not out for power, but for how fast I can fill the chamber and reload.
