as promised the clip fed BBMG prototype with video. pretty basic in design use the same system this one hose injects air the other sucks out bbs. the only difference is that this time those hoses are contained in the mag itself. also this version doesn't need a threaded mag, one step closer to standard airsoft technology. the mag is held in place using a small nail, it could easily be changed to a standard spring clip release. there would be no point in this model becuase this is just a proof of concept.

everything should be explained by the video feel free to leave questions or comments

the gun

gun with clip removed

the clip uses primarily hot gule and flex tubbing (the small flex tube for air to go in, the big one is for bbs to be sucked out) the clip itself will actually function as a bbmg is air is simply blown through it

the "body" of the gun (which is actually smaller than the clip) consists of an aluminum barrel and some hot glue (to reduce volume)

another view of the body

the bb fill hole in the clip

the fill hole is similar to that found on airsoft high capacity mags

remember its only a prototype, its not meant to look nice

Very nice. I really like this design. is so compact and simple. You truly inspired me to make a "clip" fed BBMG. Please keep posting these awsome ideas!

^Is that the HK SL8?^
Gotta love the compact design.
I love how in all these video demonstrations, everyone is low on BB's.
I'll tell you that my vortex holds the whole Daisy 6000 round bottle in it, and eats up the steel in one or two minutes.
I fire mine outdoors and use a magnet to get a little bit of the BB's back. I see you are using yours inside; do you reuse your BB's?

Very cool, but it is called a magazine not a clip.

for future prototypes try using a groove instead of a hole on the magazine for the mag's locking mechanizm that way you don't have to take the time to make the holes line up or just try something similar

Agreed. With a groove, there's no hole fore the air to escape. You could also consider velcro, or buttons, or magnets, or a strap, or a flip up strip like those that hold some fire extinguishers, or even a simple twisting locking mechanism.

thats why its only a prototype, the final version will operate just like a normal gun aside from being hooked up to an air source. the mag release on the final version is going to be very similar to the release found on a M4 or M16

Hey nice work. One of my friends and I have been following your work for a while. We both like the work you did on the AK and have been working on a something similar over the past couple of months. We have found a way to incorporate the work you did on the AK with a snap in clip/mag and are nearing the completion. We test fired it a couple days ago and it drained the 200 rd mag in about 2 seconds. We should have pics and a vid or two up in a few weeks.

Imortal87 - ill be looking forward to seeing it, your probably a lot further than i am . i haven't really started the final version yet, i have been working on a weapon capable of "pwning massive quantities of noobs" as my friend calls it (also known as a automated propane mortar) i need to ask a friend of mine if he can mill some brass parts for me because im hoping to put a legit hop up system in this gun. but before i can do that i need to build a tennis ball thrower for my neighbors dog because im going to get paid for that.

PVC Arsenal 17 - yes i know but its missing one of the major components of any magazine, a spring! so it doesn't really fall into either category, the final version will atleast look like a mag fed system so ill be sure to use magazine for that one

its just soo annoying when someone gets it wrong although Singularity has a point about the spring i woul say as the bullets are inside said thingy i would call it a magazine

edit: i just had an idea, you should make a drum magazine style thing where the drum magazine feeds the barrel though a tube, i will draw a diagram on paint Smile

Sorry if I offended you... I was just joking. It's a pic I found a long time ago.

It looks like an interesting project. Best of luck!
