I was thinking that, if looking down an explosive tube I'd want at least full face mask.
Also, I note you are not too pleased with having a militant feminist at the helm...

I didn't get any photos of me in a full encapsulated suit with SCBA. I too work with HF and other fun stuff.
They let you use a respirator and not even an airline or SCBA? Wow.

This is just the kit for sampling and laboratory analysis, the actual operators working with the process have SCBA.

Gotta love substances that interfere with nerve function - all the fun of not noticing when you've split a corrosive poison on yourself.

| HF is better known for removing calcium. Even after neutralized to PH 7, it still is hazardous and will take the calcium out of your bones.

Sub-micron aluminum powder becomes airborne very easily and presents an immediate hazard to the respiratory system. The chemicals do not however present a contact hazard to other areas of the body.
With the quantities I was working with (>100g), should an accident occur, gloves, goggles, and a face shield would make absolutely no difference at all; I would still be just as dead. Full dexterity and maximum field of view are key to minimizing the risk of something going wrong.

Well, haven't been here in a week since I was in Turkey.
I figured this was a nice first post.

ahh what to do with people's pictures at your disposal and too much time on your hands |
Just saw this jibjab video. I just wanted to tell you that it is not smart to use peoples faces without approval. I once used the face of two of my teachers and some students in that exact same video and it ended in a trip to court and the loss of my dream of moving to the US.
