new to the site and new to the hobby.. this site has been very resourceful.. i have learned alot about building one from reading this site and attempting to make one myself.. i still have alot to learn.

I dont think it looks sloppy, i think it looks very good.
the only thing i will say is you have DWV parts, generally okay for combustions so im niot saying you need to take them off Im just saying that it would be better if you used pressure rated parts next time. |

I for one think you did an outstanding job for your first cannon. But like bigbob12345 said, pressure rated parts would be better next time.
Otherwise, very nice cannon. It's a hell lot better than my first gun was, i can tell ya that.

i spray painted everything black..
how can you tell the diff from dwv to pressure just by looking at the pics? im noob, so give me some tips/what to look for on this one

Some of the fittings you used are only made in dwv form. |

This is very nice, especially for a first. And I like that switch. 
BTW: I tend to use pressure rated parts on my constructions, however, it's not a major concern on a combustion launcher. Pieces will have NSF-PW then a number on them and that means they are pressure rated. |

Specifically, your clean out part, and your bell reducer... ( your elbows are alsoo DWV) I've been doing a lot of studing of parts because of the fact that a Home Depot guy lied to me about the DWV stuff and I got really pissed... But, That was for a rather large pnuematic cannon  But, From all of the "first guns" I've seen, yours is one of the nicest  |

| I would have made the handles a little more ergonomic. Right now, they look like they might not feel really good when your holding them. I would of used a router to smooth the edges. But you could use a dremel or something... |

Use smaller parts, namely, that lantern battery. If 6 volts will work, so will 9 volts.
Take a look around a Radio Shack and see what it they have for you. |

I work under a general contractor, I remodel kitchens and bathrooms mainly, but can do every step of building a house. This cannon was built with spare parts out of one of my work trailers. one day of studying some sites, mainly this one.. then two days in a row of assembly after i got off work..
the entire handle has been belt sanded and orb sanded, altough it looks rather rough, its actually pretty nice..
I admit that the handle, battery, lightswitch and box are kinda huge..
I built the cannon without a fan originally. it was after i took it apart to paint it that i decided to put a spare power supply fan in there. I built the lightswitch thing because I had nothing else, it was just laying around. The big battery is temporary until i can build some type of box for a 9 volt or a few  . BTW how long does a 9v last when powering a fan? |

| Wow this is one of the BEST first guns I have seen. very nice work, metered propane is something that experienced people make, but you got it right!. Can't wasit to see what else you can make. |

9v lasts OK AA rechargeable bats are better. 8 to 10 AA's in series
RC chargers are $25. ? I use the AA's in other stuff as well.
Project box at Radio Shack for batt/switch box. Stay away from Radio Shack switches ,junk. Marine or automotive .
Inventive on using what is around. I'm a carpenter so i know about picking up parts on the job.
