Thanks. I actually tried to make this one look and work good. And it does!!

Above, I mentioned I removed the stun gun and tied in an electric BBQ instead. I had a slight problem re-installing the strip, so here is what I did:

 Description:
The large screws are flipped around and held onto the strip with an extra nut. This holds the screws in place and allows for much easier installation.

Did you find the BBQ igniter to be more effective? I know most people utilize stunguns because of its reliability.

I have yet to have a misfire, but I've only tested the BBQ igniter a couple of times.

As far as reliability goes, the stun gun is more reliable, but I need to use it on my hybrid. Right now, it's the only thing I have that will fire it.

The reason I asked is because I was trying to decide what I would use for my ignition source, and I have been undecided between an electric BBQ igniter and a stun gun.

Although, I can easily interchange the two if one option doesn't work out.

The stun gun tends to produce a much heavier spark, but, for a normal combustion, any spark will do. The BBQ igniter is easier to wire up and I got mine to throw a spark of about 1/2".

They both run about the same price (considering you obtain a cheap stun gun).

That's pretty good, and that's between your three spark gaps, or 1/2" total? (Oh yeah, and what is the distance between your electrodes anyway?)

The electrodes are about 1/8" apart.

I tested the igniter, prior to installation, and could maximize a spark at 1/2". I was a little skeptic about it, however, which is why I eliminated the gaps, except for the central one.

I have yet to test the new igniter with the triple gap, but I have seen no performance loss with one spark versus three sparks, so I'll probably just keep it the way it is now (unless I manage to get another stun gun).
