Bbq Sparkers? I think that would be your best bet, and as for fuel propane wouldnt be a bad idea.

You could make a propane meter, or just make guesses on the amount you put in and just use a propane torch.

Best way to get the optimum amount of propane into the chamber is using and propane meter. Instructions to make one can be found here http://www.burntlatke.com/lp.html

Can be difficult to understand/construct, but well worth it. You can order one from http://www.spudtech.com/detail.asp?id=42 also, but I find that one a bit expensive.

I am using a $2 long nosed lighter wired to 3 (yes three) gaps, each 6" apart, and it fires every time. I think they are plenty powerful.

That is 18 inches total and would take ~4,572,000 volts (at the standard of 10000 volts per CM) in an air environment, some how I don't believe that statment.

Ya There is no way he is getting that.
You cant even get one jump 6" apart.Or even 1" in that case.

no offence but that sounds like a load of b.s

i tried using the long nose lighter to spark 50mm gap in a minigun (medium sized about 50mmx200mm) and it never happened.

God damn you people are stupid. SquishY appears to be the only one of you who has an IQ higher than 40. I said that I am using three spark GAPS, each one 6" apart. The distance between the ends of the two electrodes used to create each gap is around 4mm.

Spudblaster, when you say three gaps 6" apart people don't think, "oh, that must mean that there are 3 little gaps 6 inches apart." Besides, what good does the 6" give us? We just want to know how far your spark will jump.
