"Notify me when a reply is posted"

I don't know how the rest of you feel, but I really do not like this feature. On every post that I make, I need to remember to un-click this option, or else I get an email. If I didn't do it every time, my email inbox would be overflowing with messages saying that a new message has been posted in a certain topic. I check Spudfiles every once in a while, so I really don't need a notification.

I don't mind the notifications for when one receives a new private message however, for private messages come to me a lot less frequently than new posts in new topics come up.

What are your opinions on this feature? Do you like being notified of new posts in the topics where you post, or do you find it annoying? I think a great solution for this problem would be for the box to be unselected automatically, instead of selected automatically. I like having the signature box selected automatically however, for most people put their signatures in all of their posts.
