| Ok, im thinking about getting into paintball, but im haveing trouble desiding which marker to buy. im definatly getting a tippy. im trying to deside if i want to get the 98C or the A-5. they are both great guns, this i know. but which one do u think is better for a begginer. it will be used mostly for sniping, or at least thats what i plan on using it for. no mater which i get i will most likly upgrade to the flatline. but im going to buy stock first. |

| If money not a issue go with the A-5 but i would personally never buy a A-5 because if you compare stats with the 98 the only diffrence is that the A-5 is heavier and has those burst options. But if you plan on sniping those burst options wont get used alot (waste of money and paintballs). Ive had my 98 custom for about 5 years and have only spent 2 dollars in parts on it. A-5 does look cooler though. I love timpmanns to death (almost) so much that it influinced my username pimpmann22 notice the double n's. |

| Its pretty accurate with a stock barrel but i bought a 18" sniper barrel and have used it for about four year. With the sniper barrel its super accurate and is in two peices for easy cleaning. Thats the cool thing about 98custom is that there is so many differnt ways to customize it. If you end up getting a 98 I would also buy a 20oz tank for it. 9oz tanks are to long and get caught up on stuff. Forget about those stupid cyclone feeds on the A-5 my stock hopper feed the balls as fast as i can pull the trigger. |

| Ok Flatline barrels keep your balls from moving left to right but the balls have a hook that goes upward everytime (hard to hit people behind rocks). My sniper barrel has a smaller hook to it then a flatline but the hook is not predictable. First of all if you have the money I would buy a flatline if you play in woody areas (trees are vertical). If you play on tornement fields or were there is lots of rocks i would use a sniper barrel. You proably already know this but a flatline puts a back spin on the ball and a sniper barrel puts a clockwise or counter clockwise spin on the ball so hopefully that explains what im talking about a little bit better. I like both of them but the reason i bought a sniper barrel is because its better in the terrian I play in (desert and rocky areas) So i think it all depends on where you play. |

| ok, im planing on playing on an open pasture with some tree, so the best choise for me would be the flat line, ok. is there any big difference in the A-5 flatline and the 98 flatline?? |

| A-5 all the way. Cyclone feeds means no loading problems, big problem for me, I have a 98. Flatline is up to you, inaccruate, inconcistant, but the range is incredible. I have it for my 98 and (when it works) it rocks. The a5 flatline is 10 inches and the 98 is 14. So yeah now you know my opinion. |

| i dident like the A-5, if you got a pooload of money i can become a great gun but right out of the box i found that it sorta sucked. (nothing against the a-5 its great) if you add a flatline ot the a-5 and buy really costly paint it will work out well for ya but if you just want a hard working woodsball gun thats accurate easy to use and reliable just go with the 98C. i got the custom for how easy it was and ended up building onto it, i got the 6stage stock bt16 barrel ben m16 sight and a longer grip. i voted 98 custom but the truth is eather way you go both guns rock. |

| Yeah, 98 is probably better for a beginner. A5 does have some issues, like the cyclone feed needing adjustment things like that. I wouldnt suggest a flatline, since they are so hard to tweak. If you want a good, reliable system that is great for beginners get a 98c and then go to opsgear.com and get the 18" interceptor barrel, it is more accurate than the flatty, less expensive, and has excellent range, close to a flatty's range. Then after you play with that for a while, upgrade to a nitro, or compressed air tank. They have cyclone feeds for 98's but they are 50 bucks. If you start having major issues with the feeding that will be an obvious solution. |

| I have an a-5. I havent used it too much but it works great everytime i use it. I have never, ever chopped a ball, and i was using crappy wal-mart paintballs, i dunno if u guys heard of em, Bluestreaks, they are horrible =). It does use up quite a bit of co2(compared to a regular gun), except i have multiple tanks, so its not a problem for me. Its very durable, sorta hard to clean, and very easy to mods. I bought the double trigg for it and it works great, and did some custom trigger mods that make the trigger pull faster and light. I'd go with the a-5, the cyclone is so cool, comfortable gun, not heavy(personal prefence), and it dusnt chop balls (compared to the 98c that i have use in the past, which had longer feeds and Halo hoppers) |
