went to a gunshow today hoping to find a bolt for a .22 singleshot i found at my great uncle's house, and i came home with this.

its a Smith And Wesson model 22A .22 LR pistol. $243.00 out the door
i put about 250 rounds through it today, and besides one case rupture due to VERY old ammo i wanted to use up, it functioned flawlessly. nice thing about it is it has a weaver type scope rail built into the top of it. disassembly for cleaning is very easy, taking only 7 steps. the recoil spring and guide rod are a [female doggy] to get back in, but its starting to get easier as i practice it.

Out here in the wild, wild, west (bum [loving] Colorado) we simply shoot are guns from are front yards, otherwise most people go to a shooting rang.

there's a shooting range about 5 miles away, i go up there and i can hammer away with anything i have. my uncle got a Para-Ordnance .45 for his concealed carry gun today at the show, very powerful gun in a small 3.5" barrel package.

awesome. I just got a new deer rifle for this season. Its an remington 700 sps in .308. I have not shot it yet cause the closest range is 12 miles away. Well i like shooting .22s because they're cheap and help build skill without a waist of alot of money. The only not realistic thing with shooting .22s is that theres not as much recoil as a .45 acp or other calibers.

yeah, but that can be a good thing too, for learners. i'm hoping to get my mom to go with me out to the range, and i'm starting her on my .22's to get her used to them, before moving on to larger caliber guns. i think i paid 9 bucks for 550 rounds of .22, whereas i would have paid that for 50 .45acp rounds, i love .22's because i can go up to the range and hammer away all day long without putting a big hole in my wallet.

my parents usually allow me to get one gun a year as a birthday present to myself, i dont mind, i've got 6 i inheireted, and 2 i bought. the ammo is stored at my grandma's house up the street, so there's no safety hazard there. the only thing they dont want me to get are hi-cap semi auto rifles, like AK's, AR-15's, and the like which is fine with me, as i'd prefer a handgun or precision rifle to an AK, and i could never come up with the 900 for and AR myself

I want a berreta M92F here in australia gun laws are so tight, because some a hole went on a rampage in tassie and killed like 40people with semi-auto guns. i have a sportings .22magnum bolt action pretty pissy but its my first gun, my dad has a marlin 30-30 lever action pretty pissy aswell but we dont shoot that much we live in suburbia you see. when i turn 13 I'm going to get a stirling .308 bolt action Very Happy cant wait aswell as a smartparts ion and a air rifle havent chosen which one yet tho. any ideas?

amadeus, might want to take that money and put it away for a car or car insurance, i just emptied my account to buy my 2004 ford focus from my great uncle. if you really want to spend it on a gun, i'd either go with something like an FN bolt action in .308 and put a high powered Leupold or Schmit and Bender scope on it, or an AR-15, or you could always buy several guns with that kind of money.

chosen, my uncle has a beretta 92, very nice shooter and it handled well. dont knock the little bolt action .22's they're good guns if you practice with them, i just put a 3-9x40mm scope on my .22 marlin. i still gotta sight it in, but it should be a tackdriver if i do my part. gunlaws do more to hinder the law abiding population than they do to stop criminals. criminals dont obey the laws to begin with, what makes the liberal law makers think that they'll start obeying their idiotic gunlaws? most criminals obtain their guns illegally, not through the local gun shop.

I dont need a car. Thats what rich friends are for Very Happy Well i think I will by a really nice .223 with my money. Maybe a stainless fluted Bull barrel with a good synthetic stock. So probably another remington 700.
