After all of Jalords recent posts he has inspired me to make my own design. If all works this design will be incorperated into my AK-47 BBMG (Topic on SpudTech). If you havent already noticed that on the right I didnt show all the steps. Well that is because it would work the exact same but when the piston was fully depressed then it would vent more air (via hole at the bottom). Pretty self explanitory, so tell me what you think? I tryed to simplefy my designs so that they only had one chamber thing (less componets=better results). Think that covers it, agian please tell me what you think.

what are you going to use as the valve to cut off the pressure and make the piston return?

What are you talking about? Maybe this will help.

Step One: Air is supplyed to move piston.
Step Two: Air starts to move piston
Step Three: Air pushes piston all the way back then air escapes to the barrel.
Step Four: Air pressure lowers since the air escaped out the barrel.
Step Five: Since the low pressure (step four) the spring pushes the piston back.
Step Six: Repeat to number step one.

Maybe this would help. These numbers arent accurate but just to represent.

Steps Spring Force on Piston Air Force on Piston Overall Force
Step One: 2 10 Air +8
Step Two: 3 9 Air +6
Step Three: 4 7 Air +3
Step Four: 5 5 Equal
Step Five: 3 2 Spring +1
Repeat!

Am I making sense?

hi pimpman22 glad i inspired you (two heads are better than one) i like the concept alot, the only thing ive spotted that could cause problems is the piston finding a "comfortable" place to rest (with the piston under presure from the spring it could rest by only half opening the top port this would provide the restistance needed to maintain the presure behind the piston and vent continuousely without reloading) this problem ocured in all of my designs exept my most recent "bbmg simplified and debugged".
however having said this, the problem is only as much of an idea as the designs so i could be speaking bullsh*t.
love to know if it works though, do you plan on testing it?

Jalord you need to get a IM service so that I can talk to you!

I worried about this. I was expecting someone to mention it. I think I have a solution to that though. (post pics later) Im thinking that I can just make the hole longer on the piston. Jalord though you seriously need to get a IM service so that we can talk. (we both got some good ideas. Only if we could fuse them together Exclamation ) Just to increase your incentive Ill throw in some extra spud buxs (JK PC dont freak out)

All I need to do is buy some acrylic glue then I will. Ill post a upgraded version in the near future. Hold your horses!

sorry Smile getting ahead of myself i supose. i sent you two emails (dont know if you recieved them, however i do now have my own chatroom on my website www.freewebs.com/jalord my email adress is also on my webpage. if you could just let me know when your available to talk.
my new design "bbmg simplified and debugged" is on this forum and i beleive that its the only idea so far that simply cant not work (plus ive tested it and it does)
oh and to solve the problem you could make the piston heavy (momentum)?

pimpman what i'm saying is, from the diagram you always have air flow to that valve, and it will always keep that piston pushed forward, i dont think a spring will be strong enough to push it back.

hhhhhm devine inspiration Shocked whist sitting in the pub and chatting away it suddenly hit me, out the corner of my eye "spirits"?
when you order a whisky in a pub they use that thing that holds the bottle upside down, it fills with whisky you push the bottom and a bit of whisky comes out, sooooooo why cant this be done with comressed air.
p.s this may be just alchahol induced stupidit but i wont know untill tomorrow lol

Well, if we are going to talk about BBMGs, here is a design I drew up a few months ago:
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

The large tube attached to the back of the device is the air input, which fills the bolt/chamber. This has a side tube that pressurizes under the bolt, resetting it. The loop of tubing going around to the "pneumatic spring" is basicaly an equalization device; a simple 'scratch' in the upper back of the piston housing may suffice.
The green is wiring - it is shown with a small black dot being the semi/full auto selector.

It has a reciprocating piston as acting both as the chamber and bolt. It's a semiauto by design, although if you get an electric valve and some circitry, it will work as a full auto. For semiauto, though, a blowgun will suffice.
