***Poorman's Breech***
The Poorman's Breech is nothing more than a piece of pvc the SAME SIZE of the barrel cut to about 1 or 2" long and then taking a sanding bit for a dremel and grinding the inside of the pvc piece till it slides over the barrel (not too tight or loose tho) once your "breech" is able to slide over your barrel you take a dremel and drill 5 holes in your spudguns barrel about 1/4" infront of your valve on your barrel. (3 in straight line 1 on either side of middle 1) now connect the 5 holes with your sanding bit and round it to a circle big enough to fit your ammo in.
slide breech forward, load ammo, slide back back over loading hole
& FIRE! (loss of some air but could be made air tight easily)
I built a couple of barrels to shoot marbles that were breech loaders.I just used a coupler . In order to do that though you have to cut the ring in the middle of the coupler out and then sandpaper it or file it a little so it wont be too tight. another way I did this was to insert a tee,add about five inches or so of pipe with a cap and have the sliding coupler on this instead of the barrel.
I think mcmaster.com has them. Ebay is your freind when you are looking for stuff. I just checked ebay out to see if there was any deals on them. Right now on ebay you can buy a 2" male adapter for 4$ and the 2" female cam lever coupling for 11$ if your not good at math that is 15$ total not including shipping.
Im confused, how can you take a piece the same size as your barrel if the outer diameters are the same?
or do you mean: if your barrel is 2" find a piece that has an inner diameter that is the same ( or slightly smaller than ) as the outer diam of your barrel?
to use a pc os 1.5" on a 1.5" barrel wont work. you cant stretch it to fit over the same outer diam. maybe its just that im an idiot ( quite possible).
You can use a 1.5" cam lock on a 1.5" barrel if you want to turn some of the diameter off the barrel. If you don't want to compromise the strength of your barrel then jump up one inch size on your Cam Lock and your barrel strength won't be compromised.
